Ive been trying to follow cricket recently. I just have one question. What is Sixes? Does that just mean that there are 6 players instead of 11. Something like Rugby's sevens? Thanks

A six(six runs) is when a batsman hits the ball over the boundary rope without it touching the ground. It's the same way a four is when the ball goes over the boundary having touched the ground at least once.

I believe Fox Sports World this morning was showing something from this between the hours of 4-5 AM. It was on just before they began coverage of the Boca-Milan match from Japan. I think it's a shorter version of the game. Maybe the FSW website has information.

rules of sixes (http://www.cricket.org/link_to_database/NATIONAL/ICC_MEMBERS/HKG/HKSIXES/PLAYING_CONDITIONS.html)
interesting, it is only 6 players per team ,and some noticable rules that differ from regular cricket-
only six overs, after a player scores 31 runs, he can't bat anymore, a no ball counts as 2 runs and each player must bowl an over.
i never heard of this type of cricket before, has anyone else?

It's often played as a pre season carnival type novelty, or at training sessions.

FSW should be showing these tests rather than rerunning soccer games.

Agreed. Its rediculous that it calls itself fox sports WORLD when it leaves out a major segment of the world by excluding Cricket and Rugby. I know rugby was shown during the World Cup but Ive had FSW for some time now and that was very very rare. It only shows soccer. It should call itself the soccer channel. It just reruns the matches from the weekend over and over again. That gets old quick. I love soccer, but I want to watch other sports that I wouldnt normally get exposed to. I also want them to start showing Aussie Rules when the season starts
