That's the thing with the Mexican league, you never know what your gonna get.

So it is true. Your league is a Forest Gump "isium"

Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get.

I'll also say that if Mexican teams are so deserving of the MLS spots, why can't they dominate MLS teams in SuperLiga play?

Because the Superliga has to be the biggest piece of sh*t ever created. It's just a money grabber and nothing worth playing for.Only mls fans find that crap exciting.

While you may find it to be a crap tournament, the final was still all MLS this past year, including the Revs, a team used as the basis for stripping the US of their spots because of their poor performance. From what I remember.Atlante got screwed over big time by playing new england. They scored a legit goal, did it count?Oh no of course not. This is one of the many reasons why Mexican teams and fans will not take this piece of crap seriously. Not only that,do you have any idea how annoying it is to see mls fans saying "we have closed the gap with the Mexican League,it's over"....WHAT GAP!!!!! THERE IS NO GAP! They are just so desperate for a rivalry that they went as far as saying Pachuca vs Houston was the new Boca vs River!

I'm sure the argument will be brought up that the FMF teams were out of season. If that is the excuse, then the same thing applies for MLS performance in the CCC/CCL late stages.I'm not going to use the out of season excuse. You may not like this because mls teams only play good while playing at home,we have all seen how they play away.

As far as the Mexico only sending their 6th best team, that's ridiculous. Just leave CONCACAF already and quit bitching about how much CONCACAF sucks.Oh believe me,If Mexico had the chance I'm sure they would leave.

Copa America>>>>>>Gold Cup

I enjoy the Copa America because there is way better competition.Bring any of the top European national teams to South America and see how well they do,I can bet you that even they will have trouble.

I'm sure World Cup qualifying will be really fun then. Based on the current FIFA rankings, that would make Mexico the...5th best team in their region.Fifa rankings.....Mexico has always been on top of the US recently and It was never a big deal to them because they say rankings mean nothing. And now that the United States is higher then Mexico it's the biggest thing ever.

Why can't you just enjoy being the big dog in the region? Must you piss on everyone else just to have fun?I just don't like concacaf.Like I said above,we had had the chance to move then I would have no problem with that whatsoever.

Phew...rant over.

Well, according to babelfish (which I would take with a pinch of salt) I think the bunny is asking where the starting players are, and the kid puma is saying he doesn't know... but he knows why they would be afraid of him.

Or something.

Ah paisas, can't we all just get along? Have a brew and watch a nice game of footy while getting a lapdance. Life is good.

According to a couple of high-ranking officials in the Canadian Soccer community it seems that when CONCACAF re-does it's Champions League formatting after the '09-'10 Champions League Final Canada is going to get a 2nd entrant. One Direct entrant and one Qualifying entrant.

If that does come to pass I'd hope for the sake of legitimacy that we'd either be adding another professional club somewhere (Hamilton has been mentioned, along with Winnipeg and Halifax) or that the CSA re-starts the Open Cup to award the Qualifying entry spot.

I really hope that if a Canadian club does poorly next year that CONCACAF will change their mind. Sure Montreal's been great, but until a Canadian team can prove they're consistently a contender than 2 out of 3 is way too much. I can understand moving the one Canadian spot to the group stage instead of the qualifying stage, but to add another team entirely is ridiculous.

canada doesn't need more than one if they only have three pro teams.

i am a huge fan of mls, but i'd love to see another central american team in the league and only have 3 USSF spots, the open cup winner, the supporters shield winner and the mls cup winner. having the mls runner up in makes no sense to me.

Unless of course the MLS Cup winner also won the Supporters Shield or USOC. Right?

And something about Cruz Azul being Pumas' daddy. :p Reminds me of Pedro Martinez in the 2004 ALCS.

The CONCACAF Coefficient that I'm working on is closer to UEFA's formula. My results as of today and including only this season's CL (i've tried adding the full qualifying stages and other Champions Cups in the past, hard to be fair when not everyone is invited).

Country(or region) - coeff. - current allocation - proposed allocation

MEX - 15.125 - 4 - 4
CAN - 14.750 - 1 - 2
HON - 11.375 - 2 - 3
PAN - 7.375 - 2 - 2
Carib - 7.250 - 3 - 4
CRC - 5.125 - 2 - 2
SLV - 4.625 - 2 - 2
USA - 4.063 - 4 - 2
GUA - 3.750 - 2 - 1
NCA - 0.250 - 1 - 1
BLZ - 0.000 - 1 - 1

Ideally, I'd be moving to a allocation formula for 11 entry units (country/region) that looks like 4-4-3-2-2-2-2-2-1-1-1. Giving CAN 4 spots is silly (and I'm canadian). Giving 1 spot to BLZ is silly. I don't see why USA should be rewarded for the MLS.

Eventually I'd also split up the Carib region and add NCA and BLZ to an expanded prelim group. Every country in the region should be allowed to compete, pro or amateur.

Heck, basing it on one year alone, an unfinished like that isn't going to be anything reliable.

Granted, none of this really matters because of how political CONCACAF is, as well as needing $ to make the thing run. In the future, a coeffiecient may work. Until then....

We might as well go off of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CONCACAF_Champions_League#Top_10_Nations

MEX 4
Carib 4
CRC 3
SLV 2
GUA 2
HON 2
USA 2

Never won:
CAN 1
PAN 1
NCA 1
BLZ 1

That almost looks like what you came up with. The leftover spot can go to the US because $.

Once the tournament is established we can switch to a coefficient, although, like I said, I doubt that anything fair like that would ever happen in CONCACAF.
