Anyone know if FSW ever covers squash? I figure if they can show cricket, why not other obscure (in the US) Anglo games?

FOX Sports World airs Squash from time to time if NewsCorp owns the rights and FOX Sports Int'l can obtain US TV rights in a "tax-managed" transaction (by using a NewsCorp subsidiary in a tax haven as an intermediary.)

Check out www.foxsports.co.uk for the list of NewsCorp sports TV products, some of which will eventually show up on FOX Sports World via NewsCorp's world famous "tax management" process.

Outside of EPL and MLS, FSW will air whatever makes them a profit or reduces their tax bill.

Okay, I was just kidding about this, but......I just went on FSW.com and pulled up their weekly schedule. If you change the URL of the pdf file that is available you can get the schedules for several weeks in advance. I went all the way to the first week of January '04 and, sure enough, the $100,000 M&M Skins game on Saturday. I suppose you guys are right, anything that NewsCorp owns will eventually show up on FSW. My question is.....why the F does NewsCorp own the rights to a Curling competition in the first place? Does this think get ratings anywhere in the world??

Both NewsCorp and ESPN do the same thing: calculate the fair market value for the domestic TV rights to an event, but make the bid for that amount for WORLDWIDE TV rights to the event.
Since most smaller events have very little overseas TV value, the organizers of the events would accept the worldwide TV rights offer.
As a result, NewsCorp and ESPN can 1) generate a small amount of incremental revenue by selling international rights, or 2) in the case of NewsCorp, perform "tax-managed" intra-company transactions.

I tried this but couldn't get it to work. Did you notice if they'll be airing the World Cup Qualifying draw on December 5th?

It doesn't work for me in IE, but if you copy the URL and open it through Adobe Acrobat, it will work. Not sure why, it just does.
