Saw this in the Toronto FC forum.

Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment is pondering the expansion of its television holdings to include a soccer channel and perhaps a general-interest sports service modelled after MSG in New York.
Sources say MLSE has gone further than pondering the acquisition of a soccer channel. The company, which owns the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors as well as Leafs TV and Raptors NBA TV, is in negotiations to acquire GolTV, a digital service that airs European and South American soccer programming.

...this is just for the Canadian GOLTV, which is currently owned by Insight Sports in Toronto, so I don't see much of a change in GOLTV from this proposeed sale.

...maybe they can add ice soccer....

Not much of a surprise to see that Insight Sports has put up GolTV Canada for sale in order to stop the bleeding.

Most digital Category 2 TV channels in Canada, which are sold a-la-carte, lose money because they 1) don't sell enough subscriptions to pay operating expenses, and 2) hardly make anything from 30-second TV ads, which can be bought during prime time for much, much less than CDN$100 each.

It should be obvious to everyone by now that GolTV Canada, in its present form, has no hope of ever making money.

I didn't realize it was a separate ownership issue....might see slight coverage improvement in Canada just due to MLSE trying to better create their brand (plus they have a much more soild monetary backing)...
