Venue: Old Trafford

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson may recall midfielder Michael Carrick for the visit of West Ham.

The England international has only played 70 minutes of football this season due to an ankle problem but he returned to training last week.

West Ham will be without the suspended Carlton Cole who was sent off against Arsenal on Sunday.

Mark Noble is out with a calf injury, while the game may have come too soon for new striker Diego Tristan.

Man Utd (from): Van der Sar, Kuszczak, Foster, Brown, Neville, Rafael, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evans, Evra, O'Shea, Carrick, Ronaldo, Park, Fletcher, Anderson, Giggs, Nani, Rooney, Berbatov, Tevez.

West Ham (from): Green, Faubert, Neill, Upson, Ilunga, Behrami, Parker, Di Michele, Bellamy, Etherington, Sears, Lastuvka, Lopez, Boa Morte, Mullins, Davenport, Bowyer, Collins.

^^ Thought it was worth highlighting that. ^^

In case you weren't aware, the clocks went back an hour here in the UK at the weekend. I believe that they haven't moved for the majority of posters on this board yet (USA), but am not sure when they do? Hopefully none of you will miss any of the match if you're used to evening games starting at a certain time in your location/time zone.

Tevez better get the start. I'll go with pgr's lineup above, with a 2-0 victory.

Tevez has to start this one. I would actually sit Ronaldo, but I don't think SAF would do it.

Diego Tristan, now that was a classy striker back in his days. He scored some amazing goals for Deportivo, but it appears that he is not in the list. Im not really expecting a lot of him at this stage in his carrer, but it will be interesting to see if he can cope with the EPL level.

lol at the music but one of his best goals

Anyway I would really want to see Carrick back, to give some composure to our midfield. I also agree with those who say Tevez should play, don't know if I would rest Berba or Rooney. Not Ronaldo as he still needs a lot of games.

About Rafael playing, it would be a nice challenge for him, as Etherington is a pretty decent winger.

Carrick and Wazza coming in for Fletcher and Tevez, getting about 15-20 minutes to kill the game off.

Brown--Ferdinand--Vidic--Evra

?????--Fletcher--?????--?????

------?????--?????

Fill in the blanks and/or change the formation - not hugely bothered - but want that lot to start. Easily pleased overall but am not too confident we'll even see that.

Can see the merits of including or excluding just about everyone else even if I am struggling to find a role for Giggs other than some extremeley narrow, 'wingless wonders' stylee 4-3-3 that would have him in central midfield and Berbatov, Rooney and Tevez playing straight through the middle. Can't say I particularly want that, nor do I see it as very likely.

Honestly, we need to start hitting some teams for fours or a sixes now.

I just have a question here. Maybe it has been addressed before but can CR7, WR, DM and Carlitos all play in the same team? Wont that unbalance the side?

Sorry Sorry I couldnt resist :D

carry on

Lol I had a nightmare last night...dreamt SAF played that side... we won 7-0 and then he went back to 4-4-2 for our next away game and we got absolultey destroyed by arsenal
