Consider the top three American 'keepers. Is there another country in the world that can boast a better overall top-three than the USA?

it doesn't really matter since only one can play at a time...

Very likely Italy (Buffon-Toldo-Abbiati). Can't think of anyone else.

I'd say Italy also, but i would take Carlo Cudicini insted of Abbati
1. Giggi Buffon - (Juventus)
2. Francesco Toldo - (Inter)
3. Carlo Cudicini - (Chelsea)
And maybe Germany
1. Oliver Kahn - (Bayern Munich)
2. Timo Hildebrand - (VfB Stuttgart)
3. Jens Liteman - (Arsenal)

You might put Hans Jorg Butt (Got Leverkusen to CL final) ahead of Lehmann, I haven't been too impressed with him at Arsenal yet. I'm not a fan of Westervelt either, but Holland's 1-2 of Van der Saar and Ronald Watterreus is pretty solid as well. Watterreus especially, I don't know how PSV have kept him.
There is a lot of talk about how we are the deepest country at goalkeeper. First, I don't believe that. Second, as mentioned, we can only play one at a time, so what good as it? The fact that we're good at one position doesn't improve the other 10 at which we are deficient in either talent, depth or both on a world level.
I would take Buffon or Toldo over either of our 3, but I think we can compete with any of our guys in goal. But, that still leaves us struggling all over the park.
