Apparently there have been rumors that the club have a "Plan B" option in case the Grove project falls through, but the club issued the following statement:
Official statement issued by the Arsenal Football Club
There is no Plan B. We are within touching distance of securing the funding for the new stadium at Ashburton Grove and remain fully committed to relocating there.
And that's the way it is. Link here: http://www.arsenal.com/sportsappcontroller.jsp?command=setSelectedId&nextPage=displayheadline&type=com.sportapps.news.NewsItem&id=4184018

Does anyone know whether Arsenal secured funding for the new stadium?
AFAIK they wanted to secure it till 31.12.2003 or cancell the whole project.

It seems that we're always hearing that financing is almost in place. And every so often there'll be a headline that says it is finally in place. But apparently things aren't in place yet. I guess part of it is just the nature of the English media, rife with speculation and rumor, but it leaves me a little unsettled that this thing just seems to be dragging on for such a long time.

I'll assume that nothing new has happened in the last few weeks, right?

Well, Barratt Homes has started work on the flats at Lough Road, but that doesn't mean work on the stadium is any closer.

What's the current projection for when the stadium will be finished? 2005? 2006?

As far as I know, the plan is still to move in in time for the 2006-2007 season. Now I'm no construction expert, but 2.5 years doesn't seem very long to finish a project of this size.
