Berbatov for me. Whenever we played through him he was awesome and he played some magnificent passes.

Oh by the way he scored two goals. :p

Berbs had a very nice match, but Rooney hands down. He had a great goal pulled out of the net when he was actually onside.... had a few other nice shots on target and could have had the goal of the season on the volley that was blocked.... Dropped 3 great 50 yard cross field passes to Nani and Carlos... and was as Strachan called him after the match "unplayable."

I only saw the first 65mins or so. For that time, no one really stood out apart from Berba. Rooney had flashes and Fletcher was tidy, but Berbatov had the touches and moments of danger as well as putting the ball in the net twice.

I suppose if Rooney came alive in the last 25mins then he could have snatched it as he had a goal and another one that should have been allowed.

The key for me though was that in the first half, only Nani was getting change out of Celtic 1v1. The rest of our penetration came as a result of passing chains and teamwork. Berbatov was core to that imo and when the ball flowed through him we did well. Still, it was a team performance on the whole. Tough call.

Rooney, most consistent and other than some poor choices such as when he could have played Tevez through towards the end.

You win with defense and Vidic is the best there is right now!!!!!!

Voted Rooney. If we were talking about MotFirstHour then I'd vote for Berbatov, but Rooney's best stuff was in the last 40 minutes of the game. It really was a coinflip though so no point in splitting hairs.

Berbatov. Every time he got the ball he made something happen, hence the two goals. Rooney was superb again though. Fletcher comes in third.

No-one really had an outstanding game (good team performance but there were a few poor choices by every one of our attackers). So, Evans for me for his outstanding composure, even though in all likelihood not our outstanding player.

Rooney for me, although I quite happily admit that his running and over all contibution put's him ahead of Berbatov. I'm still getting used to Berbatovs more static style of play. In time I'll see it for what it is and how it helps us.

Berbatov. Although United were dominant throughout, his goals changed the complexion of the game.

Rooney.

Honourable mentions to Berbatov, Evans and Nani (in that order).

If you're going to give it to Evans might as well give it to Vidic as well. They did the exact same thing in the match... nothing.

Rewatching the match now...

upon review. Nani was the best player on the pitch (by some margin) in the first half. Nearly every touch was positive and he put in a half dozen dangerous crosses and was part of several good build ups not to mention having a shot that he created out of nothing, miss wide.

I voted for Nani, but that's just because i feel bad for the MJ looking bugger.

Finishing is the most prized asset in the game - Berba showed why he is a $30 million dollar man. How many more braces can he get int European competition? The sky is the limit...
