DC United 0 : 2 Chicago Fire

Aggregate: DC United 0 : 4 Chicago Fire

We lost the series. It's over.

Disgrace of the night: Hristo getting a yellow for pushing Convey.

No Flames - No Trolls

I hope this is the end for Etch, Stoich, Ivanov, Hudson, and Trask.

Four things are clearly evident in this series (and season):

1) Our midfield needs a lot of improvement.
2) We need depth off the bench.
3) We need speedy forwards.
4) We need better coaching decisions.

This game was awful. We could barely string together passes and we gave the ball away so much I lost count. We need to make serious changes in the offseason, so that we can even come close to being a competitive team next year.

5 shots. In a game where we needed 3 goals to win the series.

We've seemed to make an art of how to play an invisible offense for almost an entire game.

MY GOD did we ever suck....

Looking back, at least we made the playoffs.

Thank God I didn't pay much attention to the TV.

I don't think Thornton had to make one save all game, so is that 0 shots on goal?

This is not an attack on you, but DC United does have two US National team midfielders on the team!

How do you not be disappointed, even when your waiting on a miracle????
My faith in United is pretty shakey right about now.
I know it's been an injury ridden year, I know Convey's season was totally interupted.
I also know Stoichkov belongs in the Gulag, not here. What an immature, un-professional, self-impressed *#*#*#*#*#*#*#. Oh, and take your Com-Bloc lackey dog Ivanov with you.
Payne, you still have faith in Hudson/Trask??
I can't believe you do.
My fire em on the plane back home list is as follows:
Maro Etchevery
Hristo the *#*#*#*#*#*#*#
Ivanov
Martins
Cerritos
Hudson
Trask
I would rather see a failed EPL coach like Hoddle here than sit through anther yr. of Hudsonisms

Not that you can tell.

There was at least one weakly headed shot off a corner, by Nelsen (I think), into Thornton's hands in the 2nd half.

Wynalda said it should have counted as a backpass...

Hristo pushed Convey? Sorry-I didn't watch all of the end.

This better be the lineup next year:

Rimando

TBD Nelson Petke TBD

Olsen Kovalenko Convey TBD

TBD TBD

Coach: TBD
Bench: Quintanilla, rest TBD

I don't think most of the mess this year was Ray's fault, but he along with just about everything else needs to change. We need to build this team from the ground up and restore a sense that the players are all in this together.

Today was humiliating. That classless piece of garbage by Hristo really summed up the whole season. Yet another terrible show by the forwards. We really could be playing two men down and would hardly notice the difference.

At a minimum, if Ivanov, Etch and Stewart are not gone I will not be renewing my tickets. And what a stroke of brilliance to trade away a good portion of the future in the Cerritos deal.

And how many cups does Wynalda have?

Wynalda has no class.

What a wonderful way to cap the season when one of the supposed leaders - a *#*#*#*#ing coach - stands over an opposing player berating him while losing 4-0, then proceeds to shove a teammate trying to calm him down.

A disgrace. An absolute *#*#*#*#ing disgrace from top to bottom epitomized by that juvenile pantywaste has been *#*#*#*#*#*#*#.

Blow the team up, starting with the coaching staff and working the way down.

Hudson's gang of bad boys refuse to listen to anyone, Hudson included!

Hristo was harassing the player on the ground whom Hrsito had just injured when Brian Hall came up to him to calm him down, Convey tried to pull him away and Hristo two-handed pushed him away.

What class!

Yeah! Let's whine about Wynalda.
That'll make losing so much better!

Fire Martins but not Stewart? What have you been smoking this season? Thiago had what, two games to prove himself? He even looked a little dangerous the few chances he had.

The announcers summed it up perfectly - Petke had more goals than the two forwards combined. If that doesn't tell you there's a problem up front I don't know what will.

I doubt we could get a whole lot for Stewart after this season, but Q1 might fetch a bit more based on potential alone. I'd deal Cerritos as well, but considering how much he cost us we probably have to just eat the loss and hope he turns it around. Both should be sent packing before you even think about Thiago.
