The album "Streetcore" is really *#*#*#*#in' good. I *#*#*#*# you not.
BTW this will be of interest to some:
Future Forest's Joe Strummer Trees (http://www.futureforests.com/acatalog/Future_Forests_Rebels_Wood__Tree_Tubes_152.html)
Ah'll be up Scotland way in a couple of weeks and I might try to get myself up to Skye. I'll be down south too so I'll pay my respects (if I can find out where) for those who haven't been able to do so.

I agree with Kelly's review. Much better than I expected.
And his tree tubes can be bought in the States at Virgin Megastores.

I just heard "Coma Girl" from that record on the radio (again, WOXY) and I really, really liked it.

The standout tracks to me are (at the moment):
"Get Down Moses", "Midnight Jam", and "Silver and Gold"
He even manages to do a decent version of "Redemtion Song". He's probably the only white pereson who could get away with it.
The album has a really good vibe and is very balanced. It's much better than the first Mescaleroes offering, but I might go back and give it another try.

RIP Joe, we're still playing the sound down here on the ground.

Just picked this one up and I absolutely love it. It's awesome, much better than I'd expected. Once again, I go on the advice of posters on this board and pick up a winner.
Thanks.

It is a great album. Hard to believe it's been a year since he died.

Its been a year since Joe Strummer died. I remember where I was when somebody told me John Lennon, my dad, my mom, and Joe Strummer died.
So if you're in the crowd tonight
Then have a drink on me

Bump
Finally picked up the CD last night. First two and last two tracks are the best but quality all the way through. I'll be spinning this disc quite a few times in the coming months.
Now my music collection is complete ... well, at least more complete.

The video for "Redemption Song" can be found at http://www.hell-cat.com , and features the painting of a very cool tribute mural in The Village (7th and A to be exact) and a couple of interesting cameos.
I know it's corny, but I get really choked up every time I hear his version of this tune.
