The MTV Europe award are going on, not that I give two shits, but a friend of mine lives in Leith and hipped me to the goings on:
From today's Scotsman (Edinburgh, Scotland)
Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez has incensed Balmoral staff by ordering them not to make eye contact with her unless she speaks to them.
Staff at the hotel are understood to have been warned by hotel management not to look directly at the singer during her stay.
They have been told they should not speak to the singer at any time and should only make eye contact with her if she initiates a conversation with them.
The Latin songstress has hired out the entire top floor of the 1200 per night hotel for her and her 100-strong entourage.
J-Lo has a reputation for being one of the most demanding celebrities in the world.
One insider said: "All of the staff have been told that they must not make eye contact with J-Lo. Her people have made it clear that she doesnt want staff looking directly at her unless she talks to them first."

I should go to Scotland, go to the hotel, dress like a bellhop and... make eye contact with her! Oh man, that would so freak her out!

The hotel should hire an entire Navajo staff.

Please elaborate why they should, it sounds interesting.
I'll remember to just look over her shoulder when I shoot her in the head.

In Navajo culture, it is considered impolite and disrespectful to look someone in the eye.

If, as she says, she's still she's still Jenny from the block, then Jenny must have been one hell of a bitch growing up in the Bronx.

Sod that, it'll only encourage her. They should clone 4 times Superbike champion Carl Fogarty, and tell the clones to look her in the eye. That would really un-nerve the bitch. It looks like Q were right to mix Jenny from the block with Liam Lynch.

It's amazing how someone with such little talent can have such a large ego.

YOu totally beat me to this one.
I remember back in the day when she was still hot, before trend writers had to concoct a trend toward fat butts in order to justify her celebrity. She's one of fthe few people I can remember who got too big for her britches in two ways at once.

What's this "Scotsman" paper like, then? Typical British tabloid or respectable publication?
It sounds a little fishy to me, though I guess I'm just cynical after all the footie headlines like, "Arsene to Sir Alex: PISS OFF!" when actually the ensuing article merely suggests that Wenger has said, "United is a solid side, but we think we have a good shot at them in the coming match."

Well, J.Lo's entourage and her demands aren't exactly a big secret.
See: http://www.mysohow1.co.uk/westend/celebs&gossip-hangouts.htm
The Maid from Manhatten stays at the Met - 03/03/03
J-Lo insists that she is like her new character in the film, yet her demands at The Met Hotel were quite extremec
The 32-year-old star wouldn't say how many people she had brought with her to London, but she booked 14 suites for 14,000 a night to house her team, reported to include dieticians and make-up artists.
She reportedly handed the hotel a list of her demands (as most stars do) and some of the orders were that no hotel staff were to attempt to talk to her, that her penthouse suite must be decorated with white lilies and a private gym set up for her use only.
And also a copy of her rider: http://www.thesmokinggun.com/backstagetour/lopezrider/lopezrider1.html

The Scotsman is a very reputable paper. It's the paper of record for the city of Edinburgh (as the Herald is for Glasgow). They both deal in national (Scottish) issues but each tends to deal with it's own metropolitan area in more detail.

It starts with a lot of other letters too then. This is not an uncommon request. I'm not saying it isn't completey ludicrous, but it is much more common than you think.

And it's not even an unreasonable request if it goes something like "please do not ask for autographs all the time while working on the premises, please do not engage in casual conversation while on duty" etc.
J-Lo's still a beeyatch

Apparently, her policy has just claimed her first victim. She apparently called down divine wrath on the poor guy, in addition to sending him on the dole:
