The bundesliga high light show today was awsome. Great soccer, great goals and of course great crowd (cheering, chanting, jumping and flag wavings, those are awsome). But when the Dutch league that followed it came on, it was like a completely different show. There was barely any sounds coming from the fans, there is no flag wavings, no people jumping up and down, basically there was a lack of atmosphere which decrease the enjoyment of it.

The Dutch highlight show is done by FSW, at least the voiceover is.
Plus Toby Charles has been doing German highlights for years and knows what's going on.

It makes a big difference if they use the live play by play for the audio versus a recorded voiceover to go along with the video. Watch the EPL Review show to see what I'm talking about. For a few of the matches they use the play by play from when the game was broadcasted live. The excitement of the announcer who is surprised by a great play can not be matched by the deadpan delivery of a guy who has watched the play several times on tape. I'm sure it has something to do with who owns the rights to the live broadcast. With the EPL show, which is produced by TWI, they probably can only use the live commentary of games that they actually broadcasted live, so for the Sky games they have to do their own commentary after the fact. Huge difference, if you ask me.

I was going to post the same thing. Watching the Bundesliga hilight show was pure joy and excitement, but the Dutch hilight show was unable to deliver the same excitement and passion of the prior show....

The Argentina highlight show is sweet.
I love the short films about the fans coming into the stadium before they start showing highlights.

Me too. It always adds the excitement to the highlights. :)
Ditto for the Bundesliga on the fans cheering.
Unless JOB was playing, I could less about the Dutch highlights.

I like all highlights show as long as it is good. The bundesliga was not only good, but it was awsome. I got FSW recently so last wednesday was my first time seeing it. I was in awe with the game's atmosphere especially the fans...(flag waving, chanting, and one part where a whole section jump up and down). The commentator was good, going with the flow of the highlights and sound excited about the goals, the saves...etc...
Then it was the Dutch highlight show where there was a completely contrast to the one prior, almost like a 180 degree turn. It can be make better by adding the chanting from the game, and showing more fans reaction, particularly the ultra section. Someone soccer would not be the same if there is no atmosphere attached to it.
Long story short: bundesliga= awsome atmosphere
dutch liga= almost no atmosphere.

Oh, and the music is pretty cool on the Argentina show, too. You'll know MLS and FSW have made it when Sean and John throw it over to Outkast or The White Stripes to play a segment between highlights.

One of these days, I am going to have to catch the Bundesliga show just to hear Toby Charles. As an Europoseur it is my duty.

Because its his job to do the Bundesligia highlights for English speaking viewers. Isn't Tom Brokaw Canadian....why does he care so much about US politics??
