Good to see Marvell and Robbie, not exactly thrilled to see Pablo. And still no Cooper, really?

I'm beginning to think Kenny Cooper could score 50 goals a season, and he still wouldn't be called up...WTF Bob

Interesting to say the least.
Didn't see Bornstein or Mastro coming. Kind of thin in center defense, could we see a 3-5-2?
Good to see Wynne and Rogers in there as well.
In a 4-4-2 could we see
Wynne-Califf-Orozco-Pearce
Beasley-Edu-Klesjtan-Torres
Adu
Altidore

Nice to see Robbie Rogers and Marvell Wynne included. The defense is a little strange though with only two center backs and four outside backs. I would have liked to have seen Chad Marshall called up.

I'm loving it, still no Cooper, but that was to be expected.
I figured either Boca or Gooch would stay on, but I'm looking forward to seeing Cailiff and Michael "look out for my bows" Orozco play.
Surprised to see Mastro getting the call, but that's undoubtedly because junior won't be able to go....so whatever. Looks good to me.

Good to see Wynne. Would kinda like to see a roster that integrates young guys with veterans rather than just playing all young guys. But there is something to be said for getting them qualifying experience (even if it's a friendly for us, it certainly isn't for T&T), even if we won't see how (or if) they fit on the regular squad.

Holy shit, dream BS roster sans Kenny boy.
Wynne should get the start, and rightfully so, in my mind he's the heir apparent to Stevie's spot. He's really putting it together up north and should find himself in Europe before 2010.
I hope Beasley doesn't start, this is going to be a huge game for T&T and we don't need Beasley getting hacked all game (again). Unfortunately, with all the youth I'm sure Bob will want to start Pablo and Beasley to keep a little experience on the field. We should see Jozy and Adu start, which is exciting. Big opportunity moving forward, as this is an important game and should simulate Hex away matches well.

Ditto. Even though qualification is secured, going into a match without one center back on the bench is a little irresponsible for my taste. Aside from not giving a guy like Marshall a chance, if say Califf picks up a knock around the 10th minute or so, you've now substantially changed your team's game plan, and don't get to use all those young CMs you've brought along in the way you'd intended.
Getting a match against internationals is only half the equation. The other half, IMO, is getting to play with your team, within your team's framework. But with this roster, Bob's already kinda thrown that consideration out the window pretty much, much like he did with the 2nd Barbados leg. I'm not wild about that.

What I would like to see:
------------Guzan-------
Wynne--Califf--Orozco--Pearce
------(Kljestan)
-------Szetela--Edu-------
-(Adu)----(Torres)
Kljestan-----Adu-----Rogers
-----------Altidore----------
Or make the changes in parentheses. Having Adu out right cutting inside with Wynne overlapping worked very well and was a big threat in the Olympics against Holland.

There are a couple of other guys I could add to that list, but they're both injured right now, and from the looks of recent form (the past few months) Cherundolo's on a list of the most likely to need replacing down the stretch to the WC.
Though honestly in my mind, if he's back to fitness and form, Spector is a potential CD partner for Gooch (as the more mobile, better distributor many of us have felt would compliment Gooch) and a versatile backup at all 4 positions of the back line. As a fast, lock-down RB with potential to start, that would be Simek. Provided he comes back as the same player, of course. I'd love to see Simek, Wynne, and Cherundolo fight it out in '09 and early '10.

Bob's mistake isn't playing the new guys in the T&T match. You don't risk your European guys in a game like this that doesn't matter. His mistake is in not integrating those new guys in the starting lineup for games like Cuba. You can't expect Bob to keep guys like Onyewu and Boca around for a game that their clubs know is "meaningless". he is trying to foster goodwill. Bob has to sack up and integrate the guys in games that matter in which he knows they can have an impact. To be scared of starting a guy like Altidore against Cuba, at home, is silly. It wasn't necessary to start Ching for this. THAT was the missed opportunity.

It seems like Hejduk has played 50 WCQs, but I know that's not true.

Line up #1 is missing a person and I agree that Mastroini (sp?) is going to start.
