Going on the original list of 23.

I'd say Howard goes home early. Guzan should start as Howard is certainly not a backup with Perkins there.

Demerit has a hamstring pull.

I predicted with a win Bradley would be sent back early(as did MF). Well the yellow card fulfiled this move.

So that leaves two bodies out of five changes.

I'd guess that the two most likely to be returned to their clubs would be MLS players whose clubs are fighting for a playoff spot. That would be Sacha K. and LD. It might be all over for the Galaxy and LD anyway after Sunday's game. And perhaps Sacha if Chivas wins (not sure of this).

Let's say one goes. That leaves space for one european that might be overworked a bit. I'd say either Gouch or Boca, but Califf probably is more in a Boca mode so let's say it's Boca. Certainly Dempsey, & Bease could use the game time.

There was a rumble that BB might call up more MLS players. If he does it should be players from clubs eliminated from playoffs and that have been in camp before. Most likely candidate given Toronto/Dallas tie for only a point as I post is probably Wynne. I don't see BB making too many changes here due to obvious chemistry of players in Cuba game. I think he'll work in the younger guys, but wants a better core of vets than he put out in the second Barbadoes mixmaster.

Cavaet: No knowledge of Davies knock, but it appears from various columnist he's already been selected for T&T.

Here are my starters

Guzan

Dolo Gouch Califf Pierce

Edu Szetela/Sacha

Adu Donovan/Beasley

Dempsey Altidore

Subs: Perkins, Orosco, Torres, Beasley, Ching, Davies, Surfer

I'd rather see Adu in the hole behind Altidore and Davies, but I don't think you will see that combo in the start.

Anyway the kids will get to play a couple of games.

I really dont like that line-up, its so tired and boring. I honestly don't think Dolo will be there but I can guarantee you that Hejduk will be.
and I'd hope for a more fresh line-up. Its time to give our stalwarts a break and bring in some new faces.

Check his line-up again. He's advocating a 4-2-2-2 (11 players). I think you may have been confused by all the slashes.

I'm not sure if Bob is at liberty to call in players that weren't a part of the 23 that prepared for today's game, but if he does have that liberty, here's how I would line-up:

----------------Ching------------
Beasley---------Adu-------Donovan
------------Edu-----Szetela-----
Pearce--DeMerit(?)--Califf--Cherundolo
-------------GUZAN-------------

Subs:
Perkins, Orozco, Wynne, Torres, Clark or Holden, Davies, Altidore

Let Dempsey go back to his club and try to build off his momentum from last weekend and regain a starting spot.

I'd like to give a full run out to Jay DeMerit (if he's healthy enough), and we really don't need Onyewu or Bocanegra...might as well let them return. Same with Tim Howard.

Another great effort - one can only hope.

Someone must have noted in the game thread, although it probably wasn't so evident on TV, that Gooch spent much of the (latter part of the) second half limping around - his late goal notwithstanding - with a knee wrap/brace on. So he should definitely be one of the players sent packing.

What are you talking about? I was never confused by the amount of players in his line-up. What would make you say that?

The USA roster for Wednesday's match is tentatively set to be released around noon on Sunday. Several regulars are being sent back to their clubs, which should provide ample playing time for Altidore, Adu, Edu, Califf, Torres and others. I'm expecting Donovan and Ching to return to L.A. and Houston respectively for Sunday's MLS matches. Howard said he's heading home, which leaves Guzan and Perkins as the keepers (unless an MLS goalie is added). Bob Bradley said there's a possibility he will add some MLS players (Cooper? Wynne?) for the trip.

So... Howard is definitely going home. Donovan and Ching are more than likely going home.

11? Too many pain killers on my part. I meant keeping Donovan or Beasley, but Adu to start.

Reports say Demerit is definitely out BTW.

Here's one of the print comments by Bob I referred to:

Bradley will announce his roster for Trinidad on Sunday afternoon. He said he plans to bring in some young players. "I think there's a possibility we'll add some players," he said.

What was more interesting is the posibility of two teams next summer:

With a busy 2009 on the horizon, the American veterans will need all the rest they can get. In June and July, they participate in three international competitions. Their challenge starts out with two FIFA World Cup qualifiers in early June, and continues with the FIFA Confederations Cup in South Africa from 14-29 June. It concludes with the CONCACAF Gold Cup, which will be played in the United States from 3-26 July.

Depending on how the Americans fare in the latter two competitions, they will play a minimum of eight and a maximum of 12 games over 51 days. Bradley has been through this drill before in 2007, when the USA side participated in back-to-back competitions at the Gold Cup and Copa America. He will probably use two different teams next summer, as he did then - and he certainly has plenty of time to plan.

I'm sure KC will get his chance. Maybe not as soon as england wants. And for sure MLS will have to look hard at a schedule break.

So far, which MLS teams have been eliminated from a playoff spot?

Totally agree. But here is what I think will happen.

Guzan- He needs the games

For the defense, I think he either calls in Wynne and goes with Wynne Califf Onyewu Hejduk

Or flips it and goes Hejduk Califf Onyewu Orozco (yes I realize that this is not his true position, but Bradley may try to convert him)

Midfield: Edu and Klesjstan
Torres and Beasley

Forwards: Altidore and weither Ching or Dempsey

If Donovan stays, you might see a Donovan, Torres, and Beasely combo somewhere on the field.

I think Adu is a second half sub.

The goal here is not to throw out a bunch or young uns to the lions. Its a must win for TandT so the game will have some punch. This will be a good test of exactly what Adu, Altidore, and Torres can do. But they are going to need a solid supporting cast.

That is interesting. Probably going to see Cooper ( a hush falls upon the land) and Wynne. Maybe Clark if Klesjstan goes home, because I think Szetela is hurt.

I would expect that B& B would finally give Chad Marshall and Robbie Rogers their just due. They have only led their team to the best record in the MLS.

Am I the only one who thinks that Adu, Altidore, Bradley would be better off back in their respective clubs trying to win a place in the first team (or on the bench, in Altidore's case) instead of playing in a meaningless match?

No. You're not the only one who thinks that. And I'm thinking that a similar thought might have crossed the minds of their club team coaches....and if it hadn't, it will if one of them gets injured in the game.

Bradley, Ching, Demerit, Donovan and Howard are definitely going home.

Isn't seeding in the hex still at stake. We need to finish at the top of our group, right?
