But really: Whats wrong with TSG?! What do you have to act like a traditional team when youre not?! The ticket for the game last week had the number "1899" printed on it 6 times on one side! That doesnt make the club any more historical tough...
But thats apparently the typical Hoffenheim strategie... Just say the same thing often enough and pay some media to write it and enough people will start believeing it... Just like the myth that they dont spend much money on players, or that it is so surprising that they play a good season... :rolleyes:

and they started football after WW2 in 1945 (and in that year the club also

Well, that the club was founded in 1899 is undisputed of course. And if their football section was founded later or not is irrelevant as well (Bochum surely didn't play football in 1848 either). But the funny thing is that, after more than 100 years, they suddenly insist of being called 1899 because it makes them sound like they are a real club. It's a marketing move and the propaganda rags like kicker naturally go along with it.

So how did you become a fan of Hoffy? Are you from the area? Went to school there?

Me - well I can say I'm a fan, but I have a soft spot for them. Its been a good story to follow and I know that if I ever came into that kind of money I would do the same thing. The downside is in the US its just plopping cash on the table and getting into the league. There is no promo/relegation battles - just cash.
