Yep, its us. What's worse is I don't hate Bayern any more - respect. Maybe when van Bommel and Lucio are gone I might almost like them. Might.

Nothing new. That happens in BL very often when
teams play against Bayern.

Very good showing by Hoffenheim today (also Bayern played good, nice match),
i think you won some new supporters whit the shown performance.

Totally agree.

Here a BBC video report of Hoffenheim,

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/7768679.stm

Other news,

Salihovic complained about his role as a sub. He came in 74th minute against Bayern. I love this player, and I thought that Rangnick would bring him for Demba Ba...I hope our D.T will finde the right words to calm him down.

Rangnick also sends some words for Hoeneß that he won't comment anything that comes from him. 'It's not my level.' :p

Maybe Salihovic is starting to believe his press too much??

Even with how the match ended, I don't think Rangnick did anything wrong.

Perhaps Salihovic needs to be reminded that Hoffenheim succeeds as a team and if that means he sits on the bench for 74 minutes of match then so be it.

Uli Hoeness has made at least one very hypocritical comment in the aftermath of this match.

Today's Kicker quotes him as saying, "Bayern is playing against a billionaire."

While no one can deny that Hopp's money is the biggest reason TSG is where it is right now, I think Hoeness' comment is hypocritical in this aspect.

No, Bayern did not first become great by having more money than anyone else. But that is sure as hell how they stayed that way afterwards.

They had more money than everyone else and even then, they still had to resort to dirty dealings by Hoeness to keep them on top when clubs like Dortmund and Leverkusen started to get too close.

Again, when I argue that Hopp's money is no guarantee of success, I point at my favorite club's predicament over the past five or six years.

Once upon a time, BVB was nearly as rich as Bayern. However, when things started to go badly, the businessmen running BVB thought football was as simple as spending big money and buying big names to be successful.

We see where that got BVB. On the brink of bankruptcy and insolvency.

There have even been seasons where the mighty Bayern bought unwisely and couldn't not keep up their standard of play.

Hoffenheim? Well, people love to point to what Carlos Eduardo (7M), Chinedu Obasi (5M) and Demba Ba (3M) cost.

Another three players, Vedad Ibisevic, Luiz Gustavo and Isaac Vorsah cost 1M each.

Does anyone dispute those were purchases that could only be made because of Hopp's money? I don't dispute that.

However, can anyone dispute that they were also WISE purchases???

I'll stick with Dortmund as my comparison.

Dortmund paid four million more for useless f#cking Nelson Valdez than Hoffenheim paid for Ibisevic. In just this half of the season, Ibisevic has more than THREE TIMES the goals Valdez has scored for Dortmund in almost two and a half seasons!!

Dortmund paid two million more for useless f#cking Nelson Valdez than Hoffenheim paid for Ba. Ba has two more goals

Reportedly, Dortmund paid the same amount for useless f#cking Nelson Valdez that Hoffenheim paid for Obasi. Obasi has one more goal in this half of the season than Valdez has scored for Dortmund in almost two and a half seasons!

Like Hoffenheim or hate them, no one can dispute that what they have spent of Hopp's money, it has been spent WISELY!

Let's go in another direction.

How about what Sead Salihovic (250,000), Andreas Ibertsberger (250,000), Marvin Compper (200,000), Tobias Weis (150,000), Daniel Haas (50,000) and Matthias Jaissle (Free transfer) cost Hoffenheim??

All of these players played for Hoffenheim against Bayern and as most of you know, Compper and Weis were called to the German National Team for their last match against England, with Compper actually playing the majority of the match.

Does that not speak volumes for the actual football program Rangnick & Company ARE building at TSG Hoffenheim??

If you listen to comments like the one Hoeness made, you would think that Hoffenheim is ONLY where it is because of Hopp's money.

Granted, the money is the major reason. But it isn't the only reason and I think Hoeness sees a real future threat to them in the future growing in the Rhein-Neckar Kreis......

He used to make snide comments such as this about Dortmund and Leverkusen back in the day too.

Take my word for it. Not only is he a hypocrite for that "billionaire" comment, he is concerned about what is growing at TSG Hoffenheim.

And I'm down with anyone who makes Uli Hoeness squirm...... :)

Na, und? What's false about this statement? It's not like he said it's unfair that TSG has so much money.

Did you see Hopp on the pitch Friday night? ;)

Plus, no one said the statement was "false." I called it hypocritical and seeing who is it coming from, it is f#cking totally hypocritical seeing how Bayern kept themselves on top over the years.

Yeah I see your point.

I realize it's rather pointless for me to attempt to back up anything Uli says anymore...but I thought the quotation was more explanatory than critical. Then again, I'm taking it out of context.

It looks like the friendship & alleged cooperation (everybody in Munich & Hoppenheim proudly talked about some weeks ago) between both clubs is in real danger... :p

Well, Uli doesn't accept any "friends" that could become dangerous to himself. :-)

I think Hoeness simply wants to "crush" the village club image and all the adjectives that are associated with it, like the "small and likeable" club with the football rejects (i.e. players no one else wanted resp constantly overlooked) that happens to play attractive football and now is spiting the big clubs like Asterix did with the Romans in the popular comic book series.
That is were Hoeness is pointing at: Look, that club is no Asterix (to stay in the comparison), that is a "cold-blooded" and arrogant (i.e their we know everything better attitude) enterprise backup by lots of money. As Bayern obvioulsy knows what Salihovic is earning they can quite effectively guess the wage structure of Hoffenheim and asses their financial current guidelines. I guess you can remember Hoeness comment about their wage structure and with their recent reactions by Rangnick, Schindelmeiser and Peters they perfectly stepped into Uli's trap, see Rangnikc's comment "not my level" (-> arrogance) or Peters making details of the conversation with Hoeness after the game public ("cold-blooded")

It looks like the friendship & alleged cooperation (everybody in Munich & Hoppenheim proudly talked about some weeks ago) between both clubs is in real danger...

There never was any friendship or whatsoever, but it is obviously not allowed to think the Hoffenheim project because of their modern approach to the game itself is overall good for the league

I looked up 1899 Hoffenheim on wikipedia to see what TSG stood for (Turn- und Sportgemeinschaft) and found that one of their "nicknames," in addition to "Hoppenheim" (clever), is 18,99 € Hoffenheim.

I wonder if Uli Hoeneß is editing Hoffenheim's wikipedia page.... :D
