I've stopped being skeptical about Hoffenheim and I like them more and more. I'm actually thinking about buying some TSG merchandise. :)
What about dropping Mainz and joining them?
Btw: Congrats on an impressive away win.

They play great offensive soccer that is a lot of fun to watch. In a way they are like Bremen, just slightly better at the moment.
And I too cant understand all the hate - Hopp is not Abramovich. He didnt buy himself a nice little club and spent hundreds of millions on €'s on it. He brought the TSG to the top at a slow pace, by building a good team, by building infrastructure, etc. Hoffenheim did not suddenly come out of nowhere. Hopp is really helping the whole region with his efforts.
And as a side note, I'm not a fan of the old-fashioned approach to soccer. I'd rather see the sport americanized (salary caps anyone?) and I prefer watching on TV as opposed to being at the stadium.
Oh, yes, great game today. I've put my (virtual) money on a Torschützenkönig from Hoffenheim. Both Ba and Ibisevic can easily do that!
wow this is disgusting I see why there is an $ in your name

I dont understand your reactions, to be honest.
You seem quite fundamentalist with your anti-Hoffenheim views.
I see why there is an $ in your name
Yeah, Uncle $crooge = Dietmar Hopp. Ralf Rangnick = Donald Duck. Ibisevic, Ba, Salihovic = Huey, Dewey and Louis. You got a point there!

I don't want to get into any more of the
* Hoffenheim has no tradition, tradition started about 12 years ago when old Dietmar took on the challenge.
* The game is changing, yes it is. The world is changing as well.
* Its all about the money; no its about money plus talent plus knowing how to use both well.
Bayern has been spending money for years. Hoffenheim is doing it now, and playing with flare. You don't have to like it, but certainly their style of play impresses you.

Any more name calling or just overall hate will get a card.
Final warning. We've already beaten this topic to death, lets just talk about Hoffenheim and its results.
I agree though that the "1899" part is probably a marketing ploy by Hoffenheim, but I really enjoy watching Ibisevic, Salihovic ( dammit Hertha  ) etc. play. They have a fantastic side.

"Doc_Aeppler" and I agreed on that off-line. And I know I went too far with some of my comments. I think he and I got things straight between the two of us. I definitely felt I needed to apologize to him.
I respect his opinions and vice versa and we know we just won't agree.
But we did agree to keep it on football.

Yes, good football yesterday. No doubt about that. I think these 3 guys would look good on any team!
Their style of play is impressive as can be.
I just still dont get this kind of stuff...
Hoffenheim did not suddenly come out of nowhere.
They played Verbandsliga in the year 2000 and compete for the Championsleague in 2008. If thats not coming out of nowhere then please, what is?
And as a side note, I'm not a fan of the old-fashioned approach to soccer. I'd rather see the sport americanized (salary caps anyone?) and I prefer watching on TV as opposed to being at the stadium.
Fair enough. In that case Hoffenheim is probably the right club for you. Honest question tough: If you want the sport americanized, why cant you just watch the american league?!
Why does the german league have to be (even more) americanized?
An average of 40000 Fans per match per stadium seem to be fairly fine with "our" system...
Im out of this thread. If this discussion is not wished here, then please go ahead and praise Hoffenheim as much as you want...

Because it SUCKS!! ;)

It should not be, but with guys like Bayern claiming they need to make all the money they can to compete in Europe, it's just a matter of time.
You know as well as I do that eventually Bayern gets what Bayern wants......

Please don't include me in that. I'm here to talk football just as you and I discussed privately.
Now, how about that a$$whipping Hoffenheim laid on Hannover at Hannover??

Grande 1899 !
What a great first half time, deserved victory. Zero goals from the opponent, finally. The boys played also a decent second time... controlling the game without great mistakes.
Las individualidades que fueron la base de la consagración están lejos del mejor nivel:
Obasi es un crack. Eduardo und Ba never gave up, pity that they did not score and Beck is a coming star for the German Nationalteam. Amazing team spirit.
19 Points, líder en la Liga.:D:)

That's a pretty impressive looking team. So quick, technical, tactical. Beautiful passing, aggresive.
Very fun to watch.

Yeah, very much so.
To me, Hoffenheim looks like a team that has totally bought into what their coach is preaching and giving their all to execute his plan.
When that happens, a good football team is a beautiful thing to watch.
