Kicker reports that Basel's Eren Derdiyok has decided to turn down any Hoffenheim interest.

Derdiyok plans to keep his word and stick with Bayer Leverkusen.

To be honest, I think Hoffenheim can do better. There is just something that doesn't excite me about Derdiyok.

Perhaps I haven't seen enough of him, but I know when people were saying Dortmund was interested, I actually hoped Derdiyok wouldn't join us.

There are separate internet rumors suggesting that Hoffenheim might turn to discarded Bayer Leverkusen striker Theofanis Gekas.

That might not be a bad idea. I'm not a Gekas fan, but perhaps he needs to be back in a "relaxed" setting again.

Sure, Hoffenheim is a title contender, but if you listen to Ralf Rangnick, all the pressure is on him! LOL!! :D

I really don't like the idea at all to get someone like Gekas, Almeida or any other average to fill the Ibisevic hole. If they get a player like that then I'd be disappointed for the very first time with Hoffenheim's transfer's.

We have great youngsters with Wellington and Terrazzino. And I want to see them instead of average old Bundesliga players.
