That was not even a foul. Complete joke by Gagelmann to show him yellow/red.
He had an earlier foul that should have been a card, plus it appeared he came from behind - ball or not, he knocked him down from behind, reckless challenge - caution.

bla bla...
I think Hoffenheim deserves to be on Number 1 of the Bundesliga. The break comes to the right time, one more game and 1899 would probably dropped other points.
Btw, Hoffenheim did not lost one single game this season in Carl-Benz-Stadium. The next game in the new stadium is against Cottbus on 31/1.

And Schalke will suffer from today's frustration next week.
I bet you won't beat Schalke.
Well...
Nevertheless, congrats on the "Herbstmeisterschaft".

Congrats on the 'Herbstmeisterschaft' indeed.
Hoffenheim deservedly are leading the league, and like I said after the match against Werder already, they'll most likely play in Europe next season, CL being very realistic even. It's too early to say if they'll be able to win the league though.
However, it's rather obvious that Hoffenheim seem to have problems against the so called 'big clubs' in the league, while they basically 'overrun' most of the smaller ones. They lost against Bremen, Bayern, Leverkusen and Hertha, for example, and drew with Stuttgart and Schalke. It remains to be seen if they can continue to spank the smaller clubs in the second half, most of them will adjust their tactics and play much more defensively against them, the 'surprise factor' won't be there anymore.
It's going to be an interesting second half, not just for Hoffenheim.

that is good analysis, but the four games they loss were also all on the road, including a fifth game in the cup against Freiburg. I look forward to the second half as well, especially since I will be im Lande for the last five Spieltage!

One question: Did Jones just get two yellow cards, or did he also get an additional red card for freaking out and insulting the ref?

Congrats on being Herbstmeister. Glad to see anyone other than Bayern get it after their dirty play against and refusal to acknowledge that their players had done anything in the least bit unseemly.

Congrats on the Herbstmeisterschaft. Hoffeheim has been the most consistent team throughout the Bundesliga and deserves to be on top. I think though that Hoffenheim wont be winning the Bundesliga next year. Big part of it you could see in this game. The team lacks experience and experienced players. Hoffenheim were somewhat clueless when they were suddenly one man up. Although they moved the ball well, they didnt really know what to do with the ball or how to take advantage of those two men in favor. I think that if Teber wouldnt have made that free kick, Schalke could have walked away with a win. Im not saying it wasnt deserved thats not the point, the point is that Hoffenheim is still an inexperienced and it will take time to adquire this experience in certain situations.

Guys, thanks to your appreciations for 1899 Hoffenheim ! :)

If I remember right, he got two yellow cards.
They lost against Bremen, Bayern, Leverkusen and Hertha, for example, and drew with Stuttgart and Schalke.
Right. But the 4-5 loss in Bremen was very unlucky for the boys. How many times did they hit the post ? At least twice...
And the famous Bayern victory in 94th minute.... thanks to Ibertsberger.
The only sides where they really deserved to lose where against Leverkusen and Hertha. The draws against Schalke and Stuttgart were okay.
Want I want to say is that from the 17 matches of 1899 I've seen at least 13 good ones.

A yellow for a perfect slide tackle from behind, maybe you should look at the rule book.

I think your definition of perfect is what is in question:
A direct free kick is awarded to the opposing team if a player commits
any of the following seven offences in a manner considered by the
referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force:
• kicks or attempts to kick an opponent
• trips or attempts to trip an opponent
• jumps at an opponent
• charges an opponent
• strikes or attempts to strike an opponent
• pushes an opponent
• tackles an opponent
There was to be a crackdown on tackles from behind because the player with the ball does not know when to protect himself. Jones, although he got the ball first, followed through and made contact. Remember, just getting the ball doesn't make it a fair challenge.
Now I'm going from memory, and it looked like he got ball, then hit the leg.

That is exactly what I saw. And I agree that getting the ball first does not justify taking out your opponent in the process.
I love Jermaine Jones, just not the club he plays for. However, I believe he was totally stupid for even making that challenge knowing he already had one yellow card.

Dude, you're one hell of a "fan" if you're putting that loss strictly on Ibertsberger. He made a good play, he just had bad luck on the bounce. 9 times out of 10, that ball bounces away harmlessly.
This just happened to be the one time it didn't........

Same here. Guy played his heart out for 90 minutes, and had a bad break.

Adios Copado ! He was one reason why Hoffenheim ended up being in Liga 1. Good luck for him. :)
Klinsmann, hard-dying Hoffenheim fan, sends SMS to Vater Hopp ! :D
I really respect Klinsmann for this. When it comes to 1899 he has always been fair and smart. Can't not say this for his bosses...

Im Trainingslager in La Manga (Spanien) will Manager Jan Schindelmeiser nun Europapokal-Prämien aushandeln.
