I'm also still not impressed with Compper or Ibertsberger either...

Dude, you know the greatest thing about what TSG Hoffenheim is doing?

They don't rely on great individual performances. They don't need individual players to "impress" to do what they're doing.

They are impressive in what they do as a TEAM.

Compper and Ibertsberger may not impress you, but as long as they are a functioning part of this team, they are a part of something that is impressing most everyone.

Just poppin to wish Timo0o0o0o0o the best of luck at Hoffenheim.

Top move by them, a real upgrade in the goalkeeper position.

I was just about to ask you guys in the Stuttgart thread how you feel about him joining the new local competition.

And what about guys like Carlos Eduardo?

They work as a team very well as said, but itīs not like
they havenīt great individuals in the teams.

@Hildebrandt transfer:
They needed to do something on thís position.
If Timo gets his former form back itīs a very good transfer,
especially for free. Furthermore Timo has title experience
and the team could benefit from it.

EE, show me where Hoffenheim has had to depend solely on Carlos Eduardo to win a match.

Different players step up at different times on a team like this one. They all contribute.

I'll use my opinion of your team as an opposite case.

I think despite the different weapons you guys have, your team has fallen into depending on Diego far too much offensively.

I think you guys will be OK during his suspension because it'll force you to get everyone in on the offense again.

To use my team as another case in point, Dortmund has become the same with Hajnal and Kuba. If one of them doesn't make something happen, we don't score.

Keith is right, again. The balance of Hoffy is what makes them so dangerous.

Compper - He's already on the fringe, he's a captain and he's on a top team. Over the season he will get better and better.

The other central defender looks pretty good as well, Plaiss??? isn't he a kid?

Thanks for that man.

He's the guy I'm starting to point at when I tell people you can't really point at a player's situation and say he can't or would not have done something in the past or with another club.

A team as bad as Gladbach had written off this guy. I think he is the perfect example of what a talented player paired with the right leadership can accomplish even when others have already given up on him.

You mean Matthias Jaissle. He's coming along very nicely. They jacked him from Stuttgart's U19 team on a free transfer. :D

Another bit of proof of the good football teaching and talent development that is going on at Hoffenheim.

Timo for Hoffenheim !

Well , I have always defended him in other forums, when he was in Valencia or when he was shut down by the arrogant Loew.

No doubts, the deal makes sense. I feel sorry for Hass. Some fans say they are afraid of every shoot coming on his goal, I cannot say that.

I think Jaissle will become a lot better than Compper.

Good signing by Hoffenheim!

thats great. So you would mind selling him back to Gręmio uh? We qualified for the Libertadores and Carlos Eduardo would be great next year :)

Just like I was right last season on promotion, relegation and where Timo would end up :p

Exactly. in the right situation a player could develop, but let's face it - Ralfie is a damn good coach and motivator. Very impressed by him.

Yep. I wonder who they will poach from Stuttgart next ;)

He's playing regularly, and most importantly, very well.
The fans like him a lot.
To me (personally) it is still a question mark whether Hoffy will make the CL (or Europe) next season but that proposition is something you don't easily turn down.
I highly doubt he would wanna go back to Gremio now or in the very near future. ;)

I didnīt say in any word, that Hoff solely depends on Carlos Eduardo.

I pointed him out as one of the great individuals at TSG.
Sure, the success is based on working as a team,
but to let a team work you need players with skills
and guys like Eduardo (speed, passes, vision, ...),
Ibisevic (efficient using of chances) , Salihovic (freekick) or others
are good individuals. They can help a team in difficult situations with
their class.

Just heard a very nasty rumor....TSG is close to terms on another Timo....Gebhart. Heard from a person that a price has been thrown about between the two clubs. I hope this proves to be an unfounded rumor.

I hate to say it but I think it is actually true. I heard that terms are being kept low and won't be announced until the winter break. The deal is supposed to be from end of season and 1860 gets 3.1m for him. Oddly enough that is jsut shy of the amount we need to pay off our debt. We are to get consideration for one of three TSG players that are either on the first team or their II team....on that point it was unclear.

I hate losing players because we can't pay our bills. I don't mind losing them otherwise, that's just football. But to lose talent because we can't pay the light bill is like selling your kids into slavery. Well, better to TSG than to Bayern.

Well, individuals do make up a team. Did that need to be explained too???

Ibisevic, Salihovic, class?? What?

Dude, the way I see it, these two are just like the Comppers, Ibertsbergers and Jaissles of this team.

They are just getting attention because of the big numbers.

Ibisevic has had a better half season than most people have had seasons, but "class?" No. I see hard work paying off for a guy who really isn't immensely talented, but his teammates get him in positions to succeed and he's simply on fire.

This reminds me of two years ago and everyone announcing the arrival of the Bundesliga's next great scorer in Gekas.

What happened there??

How about we let guys like Ibisevic and Salihovic keep this up for more than half a season before we start using the adjective "class" to describe them, shall we?
