Please help, I'm too cheap to buy an online subscription to the Times of London Online, but I want to see an article about our Timmy Howard and his year at OT so far. if anyone can give a run-down, or the article, or whatever, I'd appriciate it.

United's new No1 hit
By Matt Dickinson
Tim Howard, the American goalkeeper who is no longer the butt of humour, is definitely the man who could replace the irreplaceable Peter Schmeichel
IT HAS been a curious journey through English consciousness for Tim Howard, who first came to our attention in the summer as one of many possible targets for Manchester United. A scarcely-known American, he roused little interest until it was revealed that he had Tourette's syndrome (TS). We still did not know if he was any good, but he provided plenty of cheap laughs.
Several months into his career in England, the real Tim Howard is emerging and it turns out that he was ludicrously misjudged as a man and a goalkeeper. The initial caricature of him as a walking stream of profanity has given way to growing respect for his abilities. Far from being out of his depth, he has instantly established himself as the club's No 1.
Fabien Barthez
139 apps; 134 goals conceded Had just won the European Championship when he arrived from AS Monaco for £7.8 million in the summer of 2000. Conceded 27 goals in a fine first campaign but by this season had slipped to third choice.

alright, but the reason I didn't link in the first place is that it seems that for some reason, for some people when they click on the link they can't read the article unless they're paying times-online members. Could be only UK IPs can look without paying? Who knows... here it is, if it works

Actually, I was able to read the article a couple of days ago, but not today.
Unless they've entirely changed their site - what probably happened it that after a couple of days, an article is "archived" - and you have to pay if you want to see it.
Not that that helps those who haven't read the article, just that it might not be anti-non-UK - unless of course, those in the UK can still reach it for free.
Hummmm
