I would have to say Bohemia followed closely by Negra Modelo. The regular Modelo just doesnt do it for me. I dont like the taste. There is also Indio Negro that also tastes good..

Are we talking with or without salt and lime?
Without - Bohemia
With - Tecate, in a landslide
good thing you added those choices!

bohemia and negro modelo are probably the best tasting beers, but I cast my vote with Pacifico. I've just had too many good times on camping trips and long weekends in Baja with Pacifico in hand.

I'm not really a big fan of Mexican beers. I really like German and Dutch beers a lot more. They tend to have more character and flavor. And since it's the countries where modern day beer was invented and perfected by monks you really can't go wrong. A wise bartender once ask me this profound question, "Would you go to Germany to get a bowl of Pozole?" But if I had to pick it would have to be Negra Modelo.

Tecate does it for me as far as corporate beers go. But the best I've ever had was a rancho made beer.
If you ever go down de Jalisco way, go to a town called Ojuelos and ask for Don Cheto. He's the man who holds the secret to a 200+ year old recipe.

Of the regular commercial beers, Negra Modelo by far

Yo voto por Carta Blanca, porque es la cerveza que va mejor con la comida Mexicana que hacen aqui en NY.
Me gusta Sol, pero solamente durante el dia cuando hace mucho calor.
Corona es buena cerveza, pero over_rated.

What are some of the smaller ones Puma? I remeber before the crash there was a great list of beers you could only get in Mexico.

If I'm on the beach at Playa, warming my feet in the white sand, looking at the clear blue water and soaking in the sun, there is absolutely nothing on earth better than a DosXX Lager in hand (the green one; the other one sucks) with lime.
People always say that good wine is affected by the environment in which you drink it (shape of glass, air quality, company, etc...); however, there is absolutely nothing that approches the complete sense of Nirvana when you're sitting on the beach at Playa del Carmen with this magic brew in hand.(Corona can only make commercials about it; but DosXX lager is the real deal.)
However, the best beer in Mexico, hands down: Negra Modelo. (Their Christmas brew is also pretty good.) And you don't put a lime on top, which I wish someone would tell all the stupid-ass waiters in Central Texas. This beer rivals anything in the rest of the world, I kid you not.
