You know, I've been as hard as anyone on Rod but he helped us become the first team from MLS to get a result in Costa Rica.
That's good for a fresh slate. Maybe he is coming into form. He could get better. I say we keep him but leave him exposed in the expansion draft.

Dammit I'll take the bait.
He's reported to consistently be one of the best players on the practice field for DC. Unfortunately he's consistently one of the worst players on the field during games.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind if he does decently in the next 2 or 3 games because then he could actually pick up some trade value.

I thought it was a joke :D
Knowing United he will get picked up in the expansion draft and we will trade khumalo to get him back :(

This was a game not expectant of advancement, this game
was a match of face saving and showing that all players
have their viability, even "Lightin' Rod! Good work tonite
" BENCHWARRIORS" !!! You all deserve my respect!!!

Earlier in that match I wondered, "Is Rod lucky to be in the game or are we unlucky he is in the game?"

Ya know, his goal tonight is probably shit... I don't have the words. If you told me that Rod Dyachenko would come up with the key play in the best result any American team has ever gotten in the snake pit... well.... I'd bet on McOwen having kind words for CSC first.

As I said in the PBP thread, it's the only time ever that Rod's rapist-like touch helped him out. I'm sure he was trying to bring the ball down off his chest and shoot with his feet.

He scored a goal with his CHEST, not his foot, his chest! That does not give him reason to stay. He almost cost us another goal with the penalty kick. Luckily, they missed.
Lay off the crack my friend, he needs to go.

Rod played well all game but no question he needed this goal. He gets trashed like he isnt an MLS quality player but he is - I am shocked that there's a pro-Rod thread.....

You might be right. I have been drinking. But still, it may be a good idea to keep him around for a while.

So here's the plan ...
Everyone hype up Rod as much as you possibly can, go to every board on this site, the comment section of every blog you ever read (soccer related or not) and don't stop talking about the clutch, game-changing performance that Rod put in tonight. Make sure to mention how any team would be lucky to have him and how DC would be lost without his grit.
Keep on it until the eve of the expansion draft.

I didn't read any of it, but I agree with the initial post.
It did say that Rod should stay in Costa Rica, right?
