My order for FIFA was postponed until Friday..........damn.

Winning Eleven 6 was just too slow.......and the dammed announcers and music was just lame.

Is America any good though..........and by that, can they compete with the Real Madrid's and Manchester United's of the world?

You guys are just buying the game because your team is in it? Eventhough the Fifa2k4 is inferior to WE6.... No se dejen llevar nomas porque esta su equipo...que no les laben la cabeza.... ;)

i actually have both...

bought winning 11 yesterday .i found Winning 11 yesterday when i preorderd FIFA 2004. winning 11 was a trade in so it came out fairly cheap... but i had heard good things about it... that it was a lot better than any other soccer game before...

quite frankly... i dont see it.. now that i have played 2 soccer games on the SP2.. i found that winning 11's pace of play is too slow. control is about the same..

i feel you have more control in set peices and off the ball in Fifa 2004...

i just started playing video games again and I am no pro either in playing these games... but first impression of each... i go with fifa 2004.

not going to lie... the fact that America is there is also pretty damn cool and feel like i have to support.. hopefully next time around..they will have the whole MFL and not jus for games...

The last FIFA game i bought was FIFA 2003 and it was *#*#*#*#ing crap. I remember beating Brazil with Mexico on the hardest level 5:1. Winning Eleven 6 is the game you need.

For all of you Winning Eleven haters. Lets think about things, you all say the game is too slow, you are wrong, this is not an opinion it is a fact. Fifa is just too fast, you have grown accostomed to it and you have a problem adjusting. If you don't believe me, watch a football game, and then play Fifa, every player in that game is fast as sh!t Also note how defenders are quicker than attackers 80 percent of the time. Winning 11 is the first soccer game I have played and got a scoreless game including extratime. Even at the hardest level in Fifa when ever I play a friend or the computer I can score a goal or two, Me and my friend recently played W11 6 and I was Italy, he was France on the 4 star Level. We played 3 games before either of us scored in regulation.

In Fifa you mostly score due to a mistake by the computer or the player. While that happens in W11 its more common to score by using different styles of play and setting tactics, like counter attack, opposite side attack, or have your players switch sides. Playing with different teams often requires different styles and skills.

Defenders possitioning is better, You have more controll of your formation and can set a player's mentality so you can make Roberto Carlos fly down the wing even though he is playing left back, or you can move every player on the pitch to an exact spot.

I can never acknowledge Fifa as a great simulation because you hardly ever score from outside the penalty area. Crosses are still way too accurate. In W11 you are required to time a player's run, locate your cross properly and keep it out of the six, cuz the goalie will get, it, You can hit it high, or regular or low, or rolling. And unlike Fifa, every player is not Zidane, so they cannot all dribble super fast and beat players and give through balls, in fact i rarely use the through ball button because it usually does not work. Another thing is the standing foul, you dont have to slide tackle or even put a player on the floor to be called for a foul. Strong players like Vieri can muscle defenders, Schevchenko will outrun damn near every centerback in the game...

And for those of you asking for Tricks, that is not real football, you beat defenders most of the time with a good pass, quickness and strength... When I play my strikers can beat defenders one on one when running straight at them 50 percent of the time at the highest difficulty. All you have to do is run at them not sprint (r1) or walk (L2) run (R2) and just before you get to them turn away, if you do this while sprinting you cant turn as sharply, the process takes skill and timing, or you can turn away from them a bit earlier, start to sprint at an angle away from them and then as they close in change direction and watch them go by.

You dont know what ur talking about. There's one major flaw about WE 6....no online-multiplayer. FIFA 2003 was one of the most addictive onliner multiplayer games I've ever had. PS2 just doesn't have that extra kick of excitement that you get from PC.

i play *very* casually, and don't really get into all that much detail as far as the games go, so i'm not sure how much weight my opinion will hold, but i picked up FIFA 2004 today and after playing it for a little while this afternoon, enjoyed it quite a bit.

It all depends on what you prefer in a footy game. FIFA is an Arcade game. Fast paced and high scoring with great graphics. It is also very easy to play which makes it quite popular in the U.S.. Winning 11 is a football sim. It has the best AI of all footie games period. The goals that you can score in WE6 and that can be scored against you are bar none. I guarantee you that after a while the goals you score in Fifa will become repetive and you will find patterns and angles for scoring guaranteed goals.

My first footy games where all EA Fifa series. Starting from FIFA 96 all the way to Fifa 2000 at which point i just gave up. Anyways when i first bought the WE games "Pro Evolution" it took me a while to adjust. And i almost gave up on the game because i couldnt score a freaking goal while in fifa after 20 min i can be playing in their hardest difficulty setting which becomes a session of Pin pong. Anyhoo the more i played WE the more i appreciated the game. It is truly the most realistic you can get to a footy match. Fast paced is not realistic hence people that want to sprint at lightning speed from one side of the field to the other should play FIFA but if you actually want to build up a play or break down your opponents tactics then WE is the game..

Since you own both games then i would say play FIFA to your Hearts delight. Then after you get bored of winning 7-2 or 5-1 all the time then you go to Winning 11 and after you learn the controls and play for a good while you will truly see the diffrence especially when you start playing against friends this game becomes the shitznit..

just picked up the new fifa 2004 - I would say it is a move towards we6 from fifa 2003. even on the amateur level it is a lot more difficult to score - that is not to say it's impossible. you can't just stroll down the middle. i've only played a few games but the AI seems to be a lot better.

i'm disappointed though that the tournament options seem to be limited. in 2003 you could play champion's league or custom tournaments. I don't see those here.

This is a great game.........it has the same Fifa features but it also is moving to a more realistic Soccer playing game.

America is fun to play with. Some of the players are underrated.....but I just beat Barca at the Semi pro level in pk's :D

I play Cuauhtemoc at Attacking mid and let Patino and Abreu score the goals.

Rios is a pretty good keeper.

Teams like Man U, Real Madrid, and AC Milan will be tough to beat though.

it is..

my little borther is a closet soccer fan. he will watch it with me every now and for about 2 years has gone for Pumas but in a discrete fashion.
anyhow, i bought him WWE smackdown bring the pain. he has only played it once... he's hooked with FIFA 2004. We basically played all day yesterday. we must have pactice direct kicks for about 2 hours yesterday.. beckham looks cool with his shogun hair due...

we played an intense game. he was real, i was Bayern. the chants are cool.

I too let Blanco be the attacking mid and it worked of for me. I playede a game against Boca Jrs.. they were up 1-0... blanco made run and was fould near the box... well... all i have to say.. bend it like Blanco... blanco tied it... and Oviedo won it. he found a loose ball. Teves scored for Boca.

the more i play this game, the more i like it. the last fifa game i played was 2002 and this blows it the ******** out of the water. it's so much smoother and the play is more fluid.

i stared an america's club cup with America. scored a couple awesome goals, one on a pinpoint cross from ortiz to abreu, one on a give and go between blanco and oviedo. i did lose to river 4-0 at Azteca tho :(

fun game, glad i got it.

no worries chief, i'm hitting my stride with a 3-1 victory over boca in la bombonera and a 2-0 home win over santos.

i dunno what the deal was with river, i hit the post three or four times in that game and had a couple breakdowns in the back that cost me.

i mean everbody knows America would never lose by a count of say, 4-0 or maybe 6-0 against anybody. :D
