Zenit vs Real in St Petersburg. Non-stop play. A match worthy of the label of the beautiful game. Almost no histronics, the players were all fit and the movement was just well; beautiful!
Arshavin is the real deal. I would add my view of this match but the play speaks for the beauty of the game.

I don't care for either of these teams but if you say it was a good match then I believe you.

Arshavin was terrific once again. Hard to believe he's still playing in Russia.

Agreed mate.
It was a match of the highest quality and the almost naive defending at times added to the spectacle/drama!
How Zenit did not win this game, I do not know...
Real were so lucky.

not the best quality but I've seen worse...if you do full-screen and get back from the monitor a good 3meters or more, it's quite watchable.
i'm still not sure whether the old, ugly venue (petrovsky) was a bad thing.. or a good thing as it was all about substance not the flash aspect, like it is at Old Trafford or Anfield, etc
only bad part was the sliding.. but the pitch LOOKEd alright

Zenit vs Real may have been one of the best all around games I've ever seen. It was positive free flowing attacking football. It was not just all out attack with no thought there were definite plays and improvisations to get to the goal not just the obvious pass. Zenit especially demonstrated creativity and had Real guessing at where the pass was going. Danny and Arshavin work amazing together.
Only Zenit's defensive blunders brought the level down a bit.

I was sitting in a "sports bar/restaurant" type place with 20 stations on broadcasting different sports that no one was really watching. I am traveling and sat with my wife where we could view a screen. It had darts or something on it and I saw a match (Chelsea) behind the bar on one of those 6 screen monitors from about 50' away. I asked the server if we could switch the close screen to the Chelsea match behind the bar and she said sure.
The match they switched to was not the Chelsea match but the Real/Zanit match at about minute 15. I tried at first to get the server attention so they could switch to the Chelsea match. But as I watched the match, I saw the pace and movement and really became attached to it. It was beautiful from an offensive lover's perspective.
Lot's of chances for both sides and Zenit probably had the most quality of chances, but what really got me was the lack of stalling, the hustle and the aggression that players from both sides showed during the match. It was truly entertaining.
I see Dick Advocaat is coaching Zenit. Is there any chance ever of him coming to the USMNT? He has been very helpful to US players in the past.

Still good the second time around especially the last 30 minutes. Danny was unlucky on a deflection and Arshavin missed by a whisker. Great match.

Arshavin is the best end of thread
