Well if Werder can avoid the Greek tragedy of last year, they should enter rounds five and six in at least second and should have a great chance at the knock out phase.

Unbelievable how Pizzarro missed that 100 % scoring opportunity in the last scene of the game!

That goalie is awful!
You're joking right?

Good result, win and tie 2 of your next games and you should be fine.

Why should I? Didn't you see that he had problems with any shots on his goal?

Btw: Congrats to Werder on a very respectable result! :)

I also mentioned it. He´s Brazilian NT keeper, but he really had huge
problems with distance shots.

btw:
You were right, Borussia. I thought Frings made the cross at the 1-1,
but it really was Özil. Frings played the pass to Özil.

Frei is an incredible keeper, that's my point if you watch him regularly. World class.

Frei wasn´t in Inters goal today, it was Julio Cruz,
Brazilian national team goalkeeper. ;)

While I wrote earlier that a draw in Milan would be a good result, and it still is of course, I can't help being a little disappointed, simply because we really could have won tonight. And because the goal we conceded was so utterly unnecessary...

Good performance by the team tonight though, over long periods of the match, we forced Inter to have 10 men behind the ball in their own stadium! But it was a good and interesting match in general I thought, even for neutral viewers. Inter had their chances also, of course, but Pizarro really could have made himself immortal by scoring in the last second of the match.

The way we conceded the goal is exactly what still differs us from the top European elite. If we had a clever, reliable and robust defence (who weren't bad tonight, don't get me wrong), we could really challenge in Europe also. That gap is not as big as the difference in budget suggests though, a great concept and coach / staff are often much more important than money, even today.

Werder is improving and getting more 'mature', despite losing key players every year. With the exception of the goal we conceced, you could really see that this team has been playing in the CL for years.

What we now need is the same level of cleverness and dedication, the same attitude against the so called 'smaller' clubs also, which don't really exist anymore, as could be seen tonight in the other match of our group ("nobodies" Famagusta spanking Panathinaikos). Once we achieve that, only sky is the limit.

How good overall was he though? In the whole game bar the assist of coarse?

I thought he played well. Sure, sometimes you could see a certain degree of nervousness, but he always tried to do something useful, and if he played a risky pass, it always made sense, even if it was intercepted. He and Diego really seem to have developed a good understanding for each other. And Özil is becoming a player who can decide a match on his own, at this young age! That's probably the most valuable quality a player can have.

Oh and btw., I really don't want anyone to question Wiese again. Ever!

He most definitely deserves to be called up for the national team.

Thanks hack for the info man. Wiese still doesn't convince, but everyone should be treated fairly. If he deserves a chance, than he shuold get one. This is Germany's era where goalkeepers and strikers are coming out of nowhere, simply too many choices.

Cesar has made some brilliant reaction saves in his time at Inter but he is known for some real brainfarts and lapses in concentration. Like Valdes for Barcelona, both are either hot or cold.

I think considering that he is still relatively inexperienced in the CL and he was up against one of the best teams in Europe away I think he did pretty damn well. A lot of maturity to his game, he is coming along beyond expectations.

His reflex save on Balotelli in the first half was quite extraordinary.

good result for bremen i suppose

i will try and download this game to watch

i think that a home win vs inter is almost guaranteed

just make sure you beat famagusta away from home and get 1 point from the panathanaikos games

and you're through
