And whilst I'm on about depressing music... any Elliott Smith fans around?
Only heard "Needle in the Hay." Liked it though.

You should check out "The Biggest Lie"... ignore the immotive imagery in this video. Just listen:

And this is cheating somewhat but I know you're a Sigur Ros fan BW... I saw them in 2006. I love them.

Good song. I need to get more of Elliott Smith's stuff. You a Ben Folds fan? Elliott Smith apparently was a big influence on him.
And yes, Sigur Ros are amazing. Got Hvarf/Heim and Med Sud... for Christmas. I need to see them live.
I was also introduced to Bishop Allen and Okkervil River recently. Really chilled out. Ever heard of them?

I'm an Elliott Smith admirer, not really a listener.
Big fan of Okkervil River, my girlfriend saw them open for The New Pornographers earlier and the year, and I've loved since she told me. I've only been able to find two albums online, and one's just a cover album.

Okkervil River put out one of my favorite releases of this year.

I only have The Stage Names. "Our Life Is Not A Movie Or Maybe" and "Unless It's Kicks" are my favorites.
Yet to catch out The Stand Ins. wikipedia tells me it's the second half of The Stage Names...hmm, interesting...

Here is my last.fm page to give you an idea of what I listen to. Although admittedly, it never scrobbles my ipod, which is where I listen to at least half of my music. So it's a bit skewed, but the top 25 is about right.

Only about a month late, but I had no idea the Silver Jews broke up, and now I'm said.

You play bass? Noticed a lot of Jaco on there. I don't use last.fm I experimented with pandora.com recently. Maybe I should check out last.fm, but it seems like a lot of work to add all those songs all over again and weed through the shitty stuff.

I bet someone wants to buy Hold Steady tickets for their Grand Rapids show, right?

On repeat today.

That can't be that bad, now can it.
I haven't heard these Muse people that I know of, but my best friend just mentioned them to me the other day. I'll have to check them out. QUEEN is my favorite band.
Edit: Meh, just listened to a few of their songs on youtube. Vague resemblance to Queen at best for a few moments during some of their songs. They're alright I suppose. Granted I probably didn't hear much off the new album.

"United States of Eurasia" is their most "Queen-like" song. Err...their Queen / Lawrence of Arabia song.
If you're interested in Muse, check out songs off their Absolution album. That will probably determine if they're for you or not.

Also been into The Magnetic Fields the past few months. Really been going nuts with Los Campesinos! the past few weeks, I've always really liekd them, but I'm starting to fall in love with them.
Saw Matt & Kim a week ago, it was a great show, loads of fun.
