Jeff,

I'm planning on heading to London from March 15-23 and was wondering if you can help me get tickets for two matches, need one for each match:

1. Blackburn Away on March 15
2. Everton Away on March 22, or could this be rescheduled.

Figured I would ask now to find out when to start asking. You can also email me at AtherRC@aol.com

Thanks,

Rob

JOSH: I have 3 tickets for you for the West Ham game, but I haven't heard from you since your last e mail.
You must be in London by now. Check your personal e mail address as I have sent you contact phone numbers for me to arrange to meet you with the tickets.
If I don't hear by phone from you by 11.00am on match day, then I will let them go. Hope to hear from you by then. JEFF.

Hi Jeff,

I'm looking for one ticket (two if they're available) to the Arsenal-Ajax match on Feb 18. I know it's not much notice, but I would indeed be grateful if they're available. I'm also thinking about trying to go to Old Trafford for the FA Cup tie on the weekend before the Ajax match. Any advice on this would also be most appreciated.

I've a question.

Where do they put away-supporters at CL matches?

Is this one section, several connected sections or two sections apart from each other?

And another question: We got a letter from Ajax that stressed the fact that tickets are bound to sections and seats in England (officially they are over here too). But how strict are they (from what I've heard they're very strict in every little stupid thing)?

For example... I'm in section X and walk over to my friends, planning to remain there during the match. But suddenly one of the glory hunting bastards that suddenly wanted to travel comes along and says to me 'excuse me, that's my seat'. Ofcourse I tell him to go look for another... that's not the way it works I'm afraid. But he (having read the letter) insists on sitting on HIS (so called) seat and walks over to the stewards... is this going to end in a mass fight or do the stewards tell him to look for another seat?

And one more thing... how do they react to standing? As far as I know it's pretty common it's England too.

Jeff--

Just wanted to post a thank you for the tickets to the West Ham match. We had a great time.

Next time I'll request a bit earlier to make it easier on you!

Thanks,

Josh

AFCA: I didn't think you got tickets for this game. However in answer to your questions, the away fans will be in one section. Yes they are EXTREMELY strict about sitting in the seat for which a ticket is issued. No changing around. If not, people can and will be ejected. Standing is also NOT allowed at any time, (although people will rise and fall if they can't see properly, but only temporarily). If people are seen standing they will be told to sit down. If you are standing without a seat, you will continue to stand; BUT; OUTSIDE THE STADIUM!
P.S. I am travelling to Amsterdam for the second leg!

Jeff, me and my buddies are flying to London for spring break (basically it's a football trip) and we were really hoping to get into the Roma match on March 11. There are four of us, which I think is probably a lot to ask, but if there's anything you could do to help us get tickets we would be stoked. Thanks,

The Roma tickets went on sale on 11th January, and probably went by the 12th! I have put in a request for 4 and am waiting a reply. No one else has requested any for this game, so should they come through you can have them. However, I am still awaiting confirmation, so don't get too excited...yet.
Once I know I will let you know. This is "veryt late in the day", but then I don't know when you planned you trip. For future reference, tickets go on sale 2 months prior to the fixture, so people need to bear that in mind when requesting tickets. JEFF.

yeah, we figured highbury would be pretty packed out for all the CL games, probably should have done a little planning. Thanks for doing what you can, we really appreciate it.

Ajax made extra tickets available (they took 800 for their own travel agency at first).

Hmmm... I really hope they're not going to be too strict. We don't really take a liking to that. Besides... I want to sit where I want. What's the problem with that? It's not like I get to choose the seatnumber on the ticket. You sure the same goes for away supporters?

And how do you eject a whole section that remains standing?

The English never cease to amaze me...

They will be that tough with away fans, particularly as the Dutch fans do not have a particularly good reputation, (although nothing compared to the English!)
A whole section not seated will be ejected by a whole section of police! Don't spoil your day by not seeing the game through "bad behaviour". Come to Highbury to have fun; not fight. After all you don't want to miss Dennis Bergkamp scoring at hat trick!!!

Has a whole section of fans ever been ejected because they remained standed? (is that correct English?)

I'm not going to be looking for trouble, but I do have problems with stupid rules. And a whole lot of police beating on supporters because they refuse to sit... a bit harsh don't you think? Oh well.. que sera sera :-)

Dennis Bergkamp's hattrick? Whahahaha. You mean vd Vaart's two goals in the first ten minutes :-)

Your English is correct, and so is your assumption. It happened when Arsenal played Torino in a Cup Winners quarter final tie at Highbury about 1995.
After about the first 50 went out, the rest "got the message" and sat down, but not before they said "hello" to a few police truncheons!

Well... in that situation two things can happen.

1) Because many Ajax fans have a liking (big or small) for Arsenal people will think 'okay... whatever', sit down and all will proceed as usual.
2) Police will be in the wrong place against the wrong people and trouble will break out.

What kind of idiot police do you have, beating on people because they're not seated. You can talk all you want but that's plain madness! Should make for some interesting situations. I thought our police were pests...

But enough of that.

How's life around Highbury? Because I've also heared that you have strange regulations concerning pubs. It was something along the way of not getting in when the pubs are starting to fill up. If that is so... what time should we be there in order to have a decent drink? No trip to ingurland is complete without a lot of nice warm beers :-)

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the 18th. We'll probably lose, but I'm sure we'll have a great day.

I know this is probably an impossibility...but how hard would it be to get tickets to Arsenal/Man U at Highbury in April? I have never been to a match before, and would love for that one to be my first...what a baptism, eh? The match is scheduled for 21/4, but the Arsenal website says that in all liklihood it will be postponed.

I'd love for my first match to be at Highbury...I'm also trying for St. James as my backup plan..they play Villa that day.

I'd appreciate any help you Gunners fans could give me. I can be reached at

JKennedy@halldale.org

Thanks very much!
