Sorry for a very arcane post, but it may be of interest to some nerds/geeks out there.
I have iTunes. One of the beauties of iTunes is the ability to carry many terrestrial radio stations throughout our land. One of my chosen stations is KEXP - Seattle (http://www.kexp.org) even though I live in Pittsburgh.
So, today I am tuned into them. Maybe 30 min. ago, they conducted an RMT (required monthly test) of the EAS. They have a human announcer for this, presumably from the state emergency management agency in Olympia.
So, I noticed during the RMT a couple of commands that I have never heard. Something to the effect of:
"If your school is participating in the tsunami drill, drop down now! If your school is participating in the earthquake drill, drop down now!"
I have never known EAS to make such specific announcements during a test. Is EAS somehow pumped into classrooms in that state? That was just a very unusual script to me. Anyone out there know what I speak of?
