Romagnoli is also a very hot topic in Bremen since weeks, but they weren't willing to pay 4M yet.

Exclusive news: short after Stefan Effenberg's career end was announced, it was reported that very probably he continues his career and signs with VfL Wolfsburg. The deal is almost secure, they are just waiting for the results of the medical check.

Effenberg Signs For Wolfsburg

German midfielder Stefan Effenberg has surprisingly signed for Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg this afternoon - just hours after he turned down a move to Austria Vienna...

Frieslander, could you put in the thread title? I forgot. Thanks

I think it's a mistake for Wolfsburg
the entire team needs to be built around Effe or else he's useless in midfield

I think it's a good PR campaign for Wolfsburg. With or without him they'll finish between 6 and 10, but now they're in the center of attraction while before they were just some boring team nobody really was caring for. It's quite obvious that Wolfsburg tries to copy Leverkusen which also had a decent team in the early 90s and started to become a top team with signing old veteran Bernd Schuster (there it worked for about 1 or 1 1/2 seasons before they separated).

I hope for UEFA cup this year that would be great and I agree with OLAF I believe it is a reality with or without Effenburg I hope for 3-6 place though.
