Any news regarding televising?

(I can't find anything from ESPN or Setanta as of yet, but perhaps someone knows a guy)

Here is what is known so far (1 week away):

Tuesday -

Confirmed live games:
Aalborg - Manchester Utd. (ESPN2 + TSN/Canada)
Arsenal - FC Porto (Setanta US/Canada)
Villareal - Celtic (Setanta Premium)

Confirmed delayed games:
Fenerbahçe - Dynamo Kyiv (Setanta US/Canada)
Bayern Munich - Lyon (Setanta US/Canada)
Zenit St. Petersburg - Real Madrid (TSN Canada)
Arsenal - FC Porto (TSN/next day)

Speculation on my part:
Zenit - Juventus (LIVE on ESPN Deportes - early start - 11:30am CST)

Fiorentina - Steaua and BATE Barisov - Juventus
(One of these games live on ESPN Deportes and TSN2/RDS. Other delayed on same channels).

Very good chance, thanks to 1 early start, that all 8 games get televised in the US/Canada.

Wednesday:

Confirmed live games:
Liverpool - PSV (ESPN2 + TSN)
CFR Cluj - Chelsea (Setanta USA/Canada)

Confirmed delayed games:
Anorthosis F. - Panathinaikos (Setanta USA/Canada)
Sporting Lisbon - Basel (Setanta USA/Canada)
Shakhtar Donetsk - Barcelona (TSN/Canada)

Speculation on my part:
One of the following games will be live on ESPN Deportes and TSN2 (and therefore the ESPN Classic game at 4pm):
Shakhtar Donetsk - Barcelona
Atlético Madrid - Marseille
Inter Milan - Werder Bremen
Bordeaux - Roma

Two others on delay on ESPN Deportes and TSN2 while 1 game will be dropped altogether.

As usual, I'll post a full schedule when its avaialable.

For the UEFA Cup on Thursday, October 2nd - very disappointed to see NO coverage by FSC this round. Looks like Setanta exclusively for the return leg of the first round. At least we get a live tripleheader:

Wisla Kraków v Tottenham Hotspur
Galatasaray v AC Bellinzona
Vitória SC Guimarães v Portsmouth

Standard Liège v Everton will also be shown but on a delayed basis.

For the UEFA Cup on Thursday, October 2nd - very disappointed to see NO coverage by FSC this round. Looks like Setanta exclusively for the return leg of the first round.

Last year, FSC signed to show the home UEFA Cup matches of Everton and Tottenham. From what they telecast the last round, the same deal seems to still be in place. Of course, FSC still has the rights to all the games from the quarterfinals on (minus one of the quarters that they give to Setanta).

Before the debate even starts, Rule of Thumb: The first schedule ESPN puts out is always wrong!!! They really made a mess of it this morning. Sit back and wait.....

I guess that we can also assume that every matchday will look like Man Utd v. ?/ Barcelona v. ? and then Liverpool or Chelsea v. ? and Real Madrid v. ?........I really hope that next year the Spanish teams find themselves in the same group as the EPL teams so we can have a little diversity of teams. :(

It won't happen. Teams from the same country can't be matched together in the groups.

Argh, not happy with Setanta's Wednesday lineup no offence to their supporters. I wanted to see the Atletico Madrid v Marseille and Inter v Bremen games. Plus I wanted to watch the Real Madrid v Zenit game Tuesday. Why can't DirectTV just put ESPN Deportes with the Sports package haha.

You can add Deportes for just Tuesday and Wednesday and drop it.

He means EPL teams in the same group as Barca and Real Madrid.

Of course, that's unlikely since all of them are probably going to be #1 seeds for a while.

ESPN Deportes has now updated their listings but I will wait until tomorrow to confirm. As expected, Zenit - Real Madrid has been placed as live at the right time slot of 11:30am CST. What I'm worried about is the listing of Villareal - Celtic listed as the live match on Tuesday at 1:45pm CST. Since TSN2 are showing it live (and I expect RDS to list it as their live game as well), it makes sense that ESPN Deportes will have it but Setanta have it on their Premium service and I see a conflict there.

Tuesday, at the moment looks like this for ESPN Deportes:

11:30am Zenit St. Petersburg - Real Madrid LIVE
1:45pm Villarreal - Celtic LIVE
3:45pm Arsenal - FC Porto DELAYED
6:30pm Aalborg - Manchester Utd. DELAYED
8:30pm Zenit St. Petersburg - Real Madrid DELAYED
11:00pm BATE Barisov - Juventus DELAYED

Wednesday:

1:45pm Shakhtar Donetsk - Barcelona LIVE
3:45pm Liverpool - PSV Eindhoven DELAYED
6:30pm TBA DELAYED
8:30pm Shakhtar Donetsk - Barcelona DELAYED
11:00pm Inter Milan - Werder Bremen DELAYED

I'll post a full schedule tomorrow.....

Arsenal vs Porto will be a much better game than AaB vs Man U... lame choice, ESPN2!

Matchday 3 & 4 schedule is mostly obvious:
Man United vs Celtic ESPN2, Juventus vs Real Madrid ESPNC
Atlético vs Liverpool ESPN2, Basel vs Barcelona ESPNC (ESPNC could show Chelsea vs Roma instead)
