Figured a thread should be started for this.

No "In the Round" like last year. Damn, that was horrible.

Instead they're having the nominees for best announcer of reality shows taking turns hosting.

Let's see if Mad Men will win most of it's noms or if whoever votes on the winners sticks to crap like Monk and Boston Legal.

I still can't believe in its final season The Wire didn't get any nods and of course Battlestar not getting nods is also a travesty.

But whoever came up with the final nominees did do better than normal with shows like Dexter and Damages getting nods and actors like Michael C. Hall and David Duchovny as well.

I'm really hoping Neil Patrick Harris pulls off an upset but I'm pretty sure Piven will win for his yelling.

Post your predictions, thoughts, snarky comments etc.

Reality television sucks. Reality/competition host the third-from-last award of the night? Why not call a spade a spade - Best Game Show Host?

Did they just cut that guy off who won for John Adams when he was talking about articulate men leading the country?

After that fiasco there should never be a host award again.

Awesome love for 30 Rock. Great to see Bryan Cranston and Mad Men win.

The hosting is atrocious, not even remotely funny.

When Pigskins Fly Past Emmys (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/23/arts/television/23arts-WHENPIGSKINS_BRF.html?ref=arts) - N.Y. Times

The Dallas-Green Bay National Football League game on NBC blitzed the Emmy Awards into submission Sunday night, driving the annual television celebration to what will likely be its worst ratings ever.

Based on overnight numbers, the 60th Annual Emmy Awards, on ABC reached only about 12.2 million viewers. This figure would approach the previous low audience for an Emmy show, in 1990, when the broadcast, on the Fox network, attracted only 12.3 million viewers.

The hosting team was terrible. Glad Colbert finally won an Emmy for writing. It is such a well-crafted show. I liked combining multiple musical performances into one scatterbrained Josh Grobin performance. These shows waste so much time with unnecessary filler. The circular introductions are ridiculous as well.

It is interesting that they felt the need to add another Reality category since the Amazing Race has won all six Best Reality Show Emmies.

The best thing about the Emmys was Jimmy Kimmel's spoof of Baba Wa Wa's special. It was hysterical.
