Wed, 10/22, 2:45pm, ET. Closed circuit TV only (Setanta). I thought I had read earlier on this board that this game would be on ESPN2, but I see the Real Madrid v Belgrade game listed on soccertv.com.
A win in Glasgow would be a huge boost toward winning the group.

Possibly the most important game of the group. Infinitely winnable, but just look at the prospects either way:
Win, and passage to the next round is almost guaranteed. I think the home game against Rangers is close to a lock, as well as the road game against PAO. So winning this one would just about guarantee 12 points even if Man Utd go belly up and blow the home game against Stuttgart.
Lose, though... or even draw... and the home match against Stuttgart could be influential and there's no room for error, particularly after Rangers already beat Stuttgart at Ibrox.
That said, I don't expect this game to be as difficult as some. Rangers have been poor this season, dropping points in the SPL and barely getting past a Danish team to get into the group stage. Yes, they got a result against Stuttgart - but that's a very young team that was playing away from home against competition it probably underestimated.

It's Rangers. It's Ibrox. United would do well to not give up a single inch.
While Rangers aren't dominating the SPL this year, United have looked spotty at times in the Premiership. They'll certainly have to play better than they did in the Leeds game, and we'll need Ruud to be firing on all cylinders. Mark this as a game we need points from, if for no reason other than to get back on track in the CL psychologically.
Is Giggs expected to be back by then? I'm still not sure why he sat out on Saturday.

Giggs reportedly had the flu, but he could very well have just been rested for the midweek clash. I expect to have a clean sheet against Rangers, I don't care if we score or not if that happens - at least in this game only.

I was wondering why Giggs wasn't playing against Leeds. If he had the flu, i hope he's over it. If he was just resting, then I can't wait to see him against Rangers.

There have been plenty of times I would have gladly paid $50 but still wasn't able to see the games at all. I'm not saying I'd pay $50 to watch Rangers vs. United, but I'm really glad I have the opportunity to watch it at all these days...

Rednews.co.uk reports that Fortune is doubtful for the Rangers match with the knee injury from the Leeds match. No further info is available yet on the extent of the injury or how much time he's expected to miss....

Seems very greedy. Tell them from me that at least one Englishman doesnt approve. If you can charge, a modest cover charge is $5 say. $20 is taking this p1ss.
I know America is the land off opportunity but $20!
They should think of all the beer that will be drunk...mind you there will be more than 5 people watching? wont there?

It's the satellite carrier that enforces the charges unfortunately. But like I said, we're lucky we get the games we do now....
Meanwhile, the Arse are losing 2-0 against European Giants Dynamo Kiev.

2-1 now.
Dont want Arsenal to win but we need English teams to progress, you never know when those extra Champs league places will come in useful!
