I thought it took some serious stones for Pleat to bring in a defender to replace Poyet down 1-0. A brilliant move!!!!! Having said that, Poyet and Anderton save for that goal they linked up on against Everton have been utter crap. I can't wait until Davies and Redknapp are back and we don't have to use these two though I guess you do need Poyet for his proficiency in the air. Obviously, Dalmat just changed the whole tone of the game. So refreshing to see an attacking midfielder to take the fight to the other team for once. I thought the best man on the field on Sunday, call me nuts, was Doherty. Normally, I'm pretty down on him, but he made some key clearences and made only one gaffe which Dickov let him off the hook for and he recovered well. I thought he played better than Gardner could have ever played. Combined with Dumbo-Dean, they did well and we would have had a clean sheet had Keller not done his best Bill Buckner (Yanks will understand). Nice to take 3 after being so thorouhgly outplayed for most of the game.

Doherty is a serious liability. There is more to being a Premiership defender than hoofing the ball upfield.

Agree with the Poyet/Anderton thing. They're too old and crap to be playing in the same team.
