This is very bad. A classless challenge. Anybody hear any estimates of time that will be missed. I'd be shocked if he plays next week.

Most ankle injuries like that are about 4-6 weeks. Could be less if he's very lucky and it's only bruised. But if it's broken it could be worse, possibly a couple of months....

I hope that cockdocker Izzet contracts AIDS and dies.

NOTE: Sorry, I'm just upset over the whole thing. Nasty challenge.

Well the Daily Star reckon that the video disciplinary board are going to have words with him. Personally I think the least he should get is a ban of a minimum 3 games, if not more. But knowing those gutless idiots , they'll no doubt let him off.

But on the bright side it looks like nothing's broken or fractured for Freddie, but ligaments could be affected and that's still quite a nasty injury.

I hate to break the news to everybody, but ligament damage is worse than broken bones. While he may be able to return sooner with strained ligaments, it is worse in the long run. Ligaments do not grow back, so once damaged ... you're pretty much screwed. Medical procedure has gotten much better over the last dozen years, but it's still a very bad thing.

Ankle breaks can be nasty though, because often they just don't heal correctly, or the blood flow doesn't get there properly, so at least those worries are avoided. But ligament damage is usually something that compounds over a career, so don't be suprised if Fredi comes back and then is lost for the rest of the year from a related injury to the ligaments. :(

I wish all the best to Fredi for his speedy and complete recovery.

Well I've seen a few reports saying that his ligament problem will keep him out for 2 months. Which would be bad, not a complete disaster, but a definite blow.

The club on the other hand made a statement saying it was too earlier to say yet, which I assume must have been in reaction to the 2 month speculation.

Oh well, Bobby Z has been looking very good recently, looked bright as a sub against Leicester and set up the equaliser. But we need him to be on top goal scoring form, I'm sure he's a player that can go on a good run if he breaks his duck. Postiga should also be in contention, I don't think his injury is bad, he should be ready for Boro.

Fredi was the best thing we had going for us. Somebody needs to step up against Boro.

Having just started playing 11 a-side again after a gap of 10 years, I know exactly what Izzet was trying to do. He was trying to injure Fredi. It was obvious and blatant and intentional. If he'd taken Fredi out with his trailing leg I could forgive him, but to actually deliberately crash your studs onto an opponents ankle like that...

Strike two to the anti-Turk brigade. He's reinforced their xenophobic feelings.

Postiga or Zamora.

PAK or ZAK. Or KAP. KAZ sounds rubbish, like a kids cartoon.

I know we're sposed to whine as fans, but really, we can't catch a *#*#*#*#ing break. Just when we get a striker who looks like he might be shaping up to have a 20/25 goal season, he gets screwed. Am seroiously upset about this. even if recovery is quicker than expected, it might recur and he'll miss west ham in the carling cup and the scum away, which i was hoping we might get a point from for once. only hope is for zamora to produce the goods.

well i guess we'll find out how good pleat really is.

hoddle claimed that KAK was his parternship of choice, pleat got to reap the benefits of that partnership. if he can come up with the goods with ZAK or KAP it'll at least say something.

i vote for ZAK. need a little and large.

I think he hould play Postiga if he is fit. Zamora seems best as a late game sub to pick up the tempo. That little bastard who deliberately hurt Fredi should face a long ban, but if scum Sol gets off repeatedly, I'm sure this tosser will too.
