Forget the Shinken with all that plastic junk on it - I'm loving the look and potential feel of the Wave Ghost.

I've been looking at the ones on PDS, and they really do look beautiful - a perfect blend of classic leather with leightweight technology.

I like the white/gold colourway, but the most awesome has to be this limited edition colourway - black and neon green:

I always loved Rivaldo's Wave Cups which were made for him for the WC02 - in fact they're one, if not my favourite boot ever. They had them over at PDS for years, for a great price, but I just never actually bought them - I'm not sure why I never went to the effot. I think they'll be one of those boots that I will one day have to buy...somewhere.

Hi I am new to this, but am pretty interested in the new Shinkens.

Has anyone got pictures of their own Shinken 2s? I have seen DrSkillz1800's from the original Mizuno thread, but was hoping for some other pictures if possible.

Interested in buying a pair, but need to see them for real, not the product shots of internet sellers. They aren't coming out in Australia for a very long time I beleive. I spoke to Mizuno HQ in Aus, and they said there wasn't enough interest. They are bringing out the Wave Ghost Striker.

Next thing, which is better?

hey there.. Yesterday I tried my new pair of wave shinken I got from prodirectsoccer. They aren't as tight as I usually wear them (I wear double socks) but they are very comfortable. Already I played one game and the kangaroo leather is already starting to take the shape of my foot. Amazing I can't wait to play again!

I havent had the need to get new boots yet, which is the only reason why I havent gotten the new ghost gtrikers. But the comparison between the original ghost strikers and shinken 2s is a tough one. They each appeal to different things. They're both extremely comfy so thats not an issue. The shinken 2s do have more support and are also more durable. But I liked my ghost strikers more because i liked the flexibility of the soleplate and also the k leather was softer and thinner, so I liked the touch better with them. So i guess it depends on what you value in boots, when choosing which is better. Do you want support and comfort, durability, and technology (like in the shinken 2s) or do you want lightweight, comfort, and touch (ghost strikers)?

I just got my new pair of Mizuno Morelia Wave made in Japan. I got it through the Japanese retailer Kinogsm recommended. I followed his instructions that can be found in the previous Mizuno thread and it was one of the smoothest processes ever. I sent my first inquiry e-mail on Friday a week ago and received my boots the following Saturday. The entire transaction including shipping and cc conversion fee came to $173. I'll post pics soon.

I just got my new pair of Mizuno Morelia Wave made in Japan.

I got another pair of Ghost Wave Strikers (pearl/gold) because pds had them on sale again and I couldn't resist. They'll sit in their box in my closet for a long time (I currently rotate 3 other pairs of shoes, plus I have a pair of adipures that I bought for outdoor that have only seen my backyard). :)

very very glad tht your purchase was successfully undertaken

yes, this shop is very professional and i suppose the ems shipment took no more than 4 days to reach you?

how was the boot? i believe the fitting is same as the morelia II/MD

was the usd173 a good/reasonable price to you?

i hope to order from them again for the neogrado lw or maybe morelia ul...:)

cheers

It took about 4 days to reach me which is amazing considering it was after all international delivery. I was also able to track it at all times including once it entered the US.
The fit of the boot is somewhat different than the Morelia MD. I got the same size but it feels a little more generous around the midfoot, but it cradles the heel nice and snug though. It also feels more cushioned than other Mizunos because of the wave technology.
I played in my Waves today and I'm very happy overall. I think I prefer the classic Morelia but the Wave felt very comfortable and there is no break in time--they feel perfect right out of the box.
The strange thing about the boots was apparent difference in the feel of the leather between the right and left boot. You can somewhat see it in the first picture I posted; the right boot seems softer than the left one. I've never seen it before.
The price I think is quite good considering the shoes are not available anywhere but Asia, are made in Japan and are kangaroo leather. No complains. I definitely recommend this retailer and will not hesitate to do more business with them in the future. Thank you again for all your help and suggestions, Kiongsm.

the morelia wave fitting is defitinitely different from the classic morelia as the last is totally different, also the external heel counter and the mid-foot contributed to it narrower shape

k-leather boots do sometimes differ btwn the right n' left, also depending on the batch of leather used....i do have the same experience b4, nonetheless it should not cause any technical deficiencies of the performance

so far from my findings, this shop is our only source for japanese market boots....in which many will be benefit!

enjoy the new boots

cheers :)

More on technical differences among Mizuno cleats: Morelia Wave is cut quite lower than the classic Morelia around the ankle and that's probably why I felt it was more "generous" around that part of the foot. Anyone who favors Beck's style of lacing their cleats would probably like this boot a lot. Also, the last is longer on the Wave by about .25 of an inch than the classic Morelia in the same size but they seem to fit the same nonetheless. I figure it must have something to do with the heel counter on the Wave as the Ghost is virtually identical to the Morelia when it comes to the last length.

And how do the models fit in comparison to the Copa?
Also, how does the leather stretch after that, in comparison?

And how do the models fit in comparison to the Copa?
Also, how does the leather stretch after that, in comparison?

for me, i wear a uk6 on the copa but a uk6.5 on the mizuno morelias and shinken (shoe length is about 1.5 to 2 mm shorter than the copa of same size ie. if comparing a uk6 copa and morelia/shinken)

mizuno uses top top quality very thin K-leather but very well padded and the stitching is excellent, so stretching is minimal

obviously for the shinken, which has less leather at the instep, softness is compromised a little compared to the classic morelia which is 100% K-leder

tht's why the shinken II was reconstructed to hv the bio-panel embeded instead of a whole piece as in the 1st generation

hope this info helps

i would highly recommend the classic morelia II/MD for copa users....u won't regret

cheers

Yep, the stretching is indeed quite minimal from my experience too. It was more of a molding process for me where the shoe conformed to the shape of my foot.
I've never had the Copa as I've always found it uncomfortable when trying it on, but I do have the Profi and the Predator Pulse. The sizing is a little tricky when comparing with Adidas boots because of the half a size difference in UK vs. US sizes for Adidas and a full size difference for Mizuno. My Mizunos are all a full US size smaller than the Pulse, which makes them 1.5 UK size smaller. The great thing about Mizuno is the fact that all of their cleats fit pretty much the same size-wise so once you know your size in one model, you know your size in all of them, unlike other brands.

Try Kiongsm's instructions he provided in the previous Mizuno thread. It worked for me great and I live in the US.
