Will crisis have any bearing on this? Figure city could use an additional form of monies a NY team would bring. What are your thoughts fellow Borough Brothers or otherwise.

Not really, not any more than it'll affect any teams or leagues around the world. I think I see what you're getting at, that this crisis stands to have a massive impact on NYC's economy in particular. And it does. But everyone is going to get a little fallout on them.

I don't know enough about the ins and outs all this to sound any alarms, and I'm not sounding any alarms (or even thinking they should be sounded.) But I'd get worried about MLS's stability in the midst of a serious recession before I got too agitated about what this crisis could do to NYC's chances.

It might impact financing for the stadium that would need to be built, but otherwise I don't think so.

I think all bets are off for the moment until we find out what the true ramifications of this are. I agree that if this is a problem, it's a problem for the whole country. But given are reliance on the financial industry, it might be a bigger problem.

Anyone who wants to build a stadium will need access to credit, so if it's not available, who knows.
