Tough opening seven games for us.
We will see three champions league qualifiers come to the bridge one after the other.

The first two weeks will see us away to the addicks, home to Manure and then away to the saints.
If we get 5 points out of these three fixtures it'll not be bad.Charlton and Southampton most likely won't be challenging for anything except survival in the Premier league.Droping points to them will be seen as a loss of points rather than anything gained.

Looking at the Manure fixture, i see it as this.
Do we really think we will win the title?
If the answer is no then not geting the full three against them is not necessarilly a bad result then. The main thing is to get something.

The final weekend of the opening month sees us home to the Arse.
Another game where a draw will be looked on as a decent result whilst still wanting the win..again..do we really see ourselves runing with them all the way to the end of the season?

On a bad note we could close out the opening month of the season with a mid table position as we have a difficult run of matches.Hope cool heads prevail, especially if a loss to either Manure or the Arse is delt to us as we could see a repeat of the 2000/2001 season where we were barely above the drop zone after a half dozen games or so.

September however could see us right the ship as we travel away to Blackburn whom i see us beating if they play ball and not the bollox that went on last season as they continually packed the defense in both games in a "play not to lose" formation.

Then we entertain the Toon who i also see as a three pointer for the lads.By this time we should have everybody except Forssell back and the team should be in good spirits after coming out of August and hopefully we will have had a UEFA victory at this stage also.

Cottagers away and the Hammers at home to complete the month as again i see a definite 4 or even all six points here as we really get things going. The Cottagers will have to play at seldhurst park during their "home" games this season as they wait for the refiting of their own gaff....what a laugh that would be if they had the finest stadium in the first division...so no advantage to them and hopefully their goal scoring woes are still there.

The Hammers will be out for revenge after last season no doubt but as there isn't any significant change to their lot i can't see any reason to not expect the three.

All in all it will be a trying start to the season as we could well fall to the cottagers and fail to get all three from the Toon.

By the end of September we will see what kind of season we are shaping up to have, although a little easier start would have been okay too.

On a bright note though playing those teams at this stage means that the returns will be early in the second half of the season and thus at the end when any points droped to anybody can be fatal, we will not have a awefull bad run in.

Opinions,thoughts, anyone?
