Hurricane Ike has pushed back the Dynamo’s debut in the CONCACAF Champions League tournament.

The team’s group-stage opener against Salvadoran club Luis Angel Firpo scheduled for Wednesday at Robertson Stadium has been postponed indefinitely, Dynamo chief operating officer Chris Canetti said.

Wed 10/15 is open for the Dynamo. I don't know about LA Firpo.

That's a shame.

Firpo could play on October 15th (as it's a FIFA WCQ date), but would most likely be missing 3-4 starters that would be with the national team.

IMO, the best time for Firpo to play this game would be between the 22/9 and 2/10. But again, that might not work for Houston, so who knows.

Considering there is a significant gap between the end of the group stage and the start of the quarterfinals, would it be that bad if the game was made up one week after the last regularly scheduled group stage matchday? I don't know if CONCACAF would change the site on such short notice. I hope the game doesn't get made up on the October 15 WCQ day.

Yeah why don't they just reverse it and play Houston @ Firpo and then play Firpo @ Houston whenever Firpo was suppose to have the home game?

We'll be playing our home games at Cuscatlan Stadium. Same thing that Metapan did in the last round v Marathon.

It's really not a bad idea to just switch the Houston home game to the Firpo home game like someone else said earlier. I mean the stadium is not going to be used until the 20th. The only really problem would be with the ticket sales, as the turnout might be low due to the short notice. But even then, it's better than trying to fit the game in somewhere else down the line were it could affect national team and/or league commitments.

The Houston v San Jose game that was suppose to happen this Saturday has just been moved to 15 Oct, so no dice there.

Looks like we get to play the San Jose missing 3-5 starters for WCQ games (Canada v Mexico, T&T v USA, Nigeria v Sierra Leon?). Just our freaking luck. We're down and now the kicking starts... :mad:

The game has officially been rescheduled for November 26.

It will still take place at Robertson Stadium, and kick-off will be at 7pm.
