Hopefully this movie will still be in theaters for at least a little while longer.

Finally saw this and Batman Begins, and I have to say, Christian Bale is my favorite Bruce Wayne.

It's being widely re-released to theaters again in January as part of an Oscar push.

It's pretty much guaranteed at least one nomination.

Even more than Lewis Wilson, Robert Lowery, Adam West, Richard Gautier, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, Bruce Thomas and George Clooney?

Fortunately, I still have the chance to see it this week, particularly after finally getting around to watching Batman Begins again just recently (for the first time in a while).

BTW, is the film anything like this (http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/video/clips/snl-digital-short-hero-song/227152/)?

Why not :D? Most of the other 'batmen' were too cartoony/cheesy for my taste.

Keaton had his moments though. But if the next bat-film does well, it'll probably be Bale for sure.

Yes. And I said Bruce Wayne, not necessarily Batman. But as the rich playboy who harbors his own secret fears, I think Bale has him down.

Judging from the more recent onscreen performances: it seems that while Adam West and Val Kilmer looked the most like Bruce Wayne from the comic books, thus far (since I have yet to see The Dark Knight... hopefully later today) Michael Keaton acted the most like him, with equal parts brooding in private, and playboyish but somewhat aloof in public.

Adam West played him a bit more campy (which I suppose was appropriate for the style of the TV show at the time) while Val Kilmer played him a bit more vainly.

George Clooney, on the other hand, pretty much mailed in his performance (surprisingly, as he's generally a pretty good actor). :(

Christian Bale came very close in both aspects (looks and acting) in Batman Begins and may very well become the definitive Bruce Wayne/Batman for me by the time I finish watching TDK. I'll hopefully know soon enough.

Kevin Conroy is definitely has the definitive voice for Batman, though. :D

I finally got around to watching The Dark Knight. It was very good!

And as it turned out, the story ended up differently than this (http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/video/clips/snl-digital-short-hero-song/227152/). :)

Warner to Re-release 'Knight' Jan. 23 (http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117996874.html?categoryid=13&cs=1) - Variety

Warner Bros. will re-release The Dark Knight on Jan. 23 in a nationwide launch, guaranteeing that it will become the fourth film to take in more than $1 billion in worldwide box office.

Knight has cumed $530.3 million domestically and $465.9 million internationally, leaving it less than $4 million short of the billion-dollar milestone. Only Titanic, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest have topped that mark...

The re-release will come six weeks after the DVD launch of "Knight," set for Tuesday.

Speaking of the Oscars...

From the N.Y. Times:

‘Dark Knight’ Score Eligible

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has changed its mind about keeping music from The Dark Knight out of the competition for best original score. Last month the executive committee of the music branch decided the score had too many composers to qualify for Oscar honors. But it reversed field on Friday, having received what an academy news release called “clarifying information,” to the effect that only Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard were really responsible for the score’s authorship.
