I was somewhat impressed with Turkey at the last WC, but not with Sukur. Since I live in the US, and rarely see live matches, I am wondering if he is really as good as reported. Is he a big fish in a little pond?

Does he just beat up on second rate teams, ala Klose, or is he any good? Has he had any success outside of Turkey?

Congrats to England and Scotland.

Hey penubly, to answer your question I do not rate Suker at all, he's slow, tall but not dominant in the air and has a poor mentality. In fairness to him he does fill an important role for Turkey as he is a target man, he let's them have a long/direct ball option. The other strikers they have such as Ilhan, Tuncay and Nihat are much better than him, but do not have his height or physical presence.

As for Klose, I don't really rate him either. He has some pace but he's not a great goalscorer and doesn't really have anything spectacular. Kuranyi is a much better player.
