View Full Version : Stand Up If You Love the Quakes
Hey guys, I just want to make one point here. I love You all and the the vibe You bring to the stadium. I always try to sit close to the Ultra's cos a i want to joinn in on the chants.
But....
The stand up if you love the Quakes thing is a piss poor idea.
It lead to a lot of Quakes fans just being not able to see the game and that is not cool. And the girls team nexst door decided to swtay hopping on top of their seatafterwards.
It reallt suckss whn ya just want to watch the game and theres a bunch of parents with video cams in front of you, taking movies of their kids. And I mean I can't see it even standing up.
Stay in 101 next time please morgan. You do a great job there, I love yas guys an all but keep in mind people actually want to see the game please.

Actually both supporters groups do the "stand up" thing. Casbah did it as well this weekend. Frankly I think it's a great idea. Gets the crowd into it. And if done when the crowd is slouching off, as we did during the second half, it's a great tool to use. So what if you have to stand for a minute to see the game.

I understand your position on this but we have gotten a lot of positive feedback about that chant. As A68 said the Casbah does it to. We try and time that chant when it is needed and we don't do it to many times a game. It would be really hard to kill that chant as its one of our core chants. I am sorry that people around you don't understand that we don't mean stay standing. We have the same problem with parents letting their kids come up to the rail next to us and block the view of the people next to us. I actually had a mom tell me to leave the boy alone he is just having fun with no concern that the people sitting there could not see. I hope the people around you figure it out if they want to stand that bad direct them to the back of the Ultras or Casbah, they can stand the whole match there.

You guys ever do 'Stand up if you hate LA' ?
alternately, if people keep standing after the chant is done, blocking the view of others, 'Sit down if you hate LA' ? ;)

Its 4 in the morning. Put the bottle down, put your crack pipe away, and find a program that helps you get over your many problems.

And the people around us kinda like it, they kind of look around, they see some rising, they get up (even the KFC zone)! Next break or lull in play and they resume previous position. Just another device to spread some love around supporters' groups, if not the stadium, which would be pretty damned impressive. One or two inconvenient moments for some may well be worth the overall benefits in the long run.

Yeah thats all well and good until a buncha them stay up and do the social scene. Like I said, I love the Ultras but I love the Quakes more, and i want to see the game.
Amused that IBT would think I have issues and overlook his own. :D

Not sure that will work out that well, considering we will continue to stand.

Why should the Ultras apologize for getting the stadium to stand up? This seems counterproductive. Someone want to help me understand this?

Ding Ding Ding.

I'll explain it. The Ultras seem to think they are bigger than the team, they are not.

The Ultras are just getting the rest of the fans off their lazy butts to cheer for the team nothing more. If some stupid fool stays up beyond the obvious standing period that's not the Ultras fault.

Why do you say that they think that?
