ummmmmmmmm.....

Hapoel Tel Aviv made it into the semi finals of the 2001-2002 uefa cup....

Maccabi haifa were the first go into the CL group stages.....

In Beitar/Shimshon Tel Aviv back in the 70's there was this big, tall, black person who everyone thought was from the U.S, Africa, but was really from Kuwait who fled persecution and was a hit player in Israel....

Hapoel = Labourers
Maccabi = Bibilical......Maccabi as soliders
Beitar = United...sometimes in England teams are reffered as United (e.g Jerusaled Utd.)

Hapoel Tel Aviv in 1964, won the Asian Cup (Like UEFA CUP) cause there finalist team was in bagdhad and refused to play them, and if they would have...cause japan wanted the game to go on....then Iraq would shoot down the Israeli plane with players...it was mixed up...but they won :)

so......you like rangers? :) Give me info on them too!

Thanks! You wanna know about Rangers? Well, They are Scottish. If people on these boards like a Scottish team its always Celtic. Rangers are very pro British. You can't really talk about them without talking about thier eternal rival, Celtic. Both teams are based in Glasgow. Its been pretty much a religious rivalry(Celtic:Catholics, Rangers:Protestants). Rangers gets a bad reputation for not hiring any catholics to work or play for the team. I certainly dont support this practice, which ended years ago. Celtic is almost an Irish team, and so they are very Catholic. They are the only two teams that ever win. Rangers play at Ibrox stadium. Some of thier current stars are Peter Lovenkrands, Ronald De Boer, Shota Arvaladze. My favorite player, Barry Ferguson, left for England. Thats pretty much it. Every time I post on the Scotland forum, I get bashed pretty bad. Thanks again for the information. Im still trying to find an Israeli team to support.

Thank you!! :)

im not really into the scottish soccer, although i do want to get into it as well. I think Rangers is good. I didn't tell you it, but i suppor the ulsters....i consider them, as an israeli my brothers and sisters and the catholics to be a foe.

I think there is a sort of Amsterdam phenomena where you have israeli flags waved in support of israel and pro-democracy views, contrary, you have these socialist minded teams like celtics who use anti-democratic flags like the PLO, which is pathetic.

A team, which i suggest you should go for is Beitar Jerusalem!! :) the capital of israel..the capital of your soul....

Or perhaps go with Bney Yehuda Tel Aviv...they were underdogs last season and this season they pulled up .

if you wanna read about sports in general in Israel i suggest you go to www.haaretzdaily.com and the sports section. It is really accurate and great.

I also get bashed. I normally don't use Bigsoccer. I was once in XT, but XT is so anti-Scottish, jewish, etc..that they not only banned me, but they banned my IP, so even if i don't have access to the threads, i don't have access to the forum as well...sickf-ucks!!!!

I believe the observation was made at some point one or two years ago that Rangers actually had more Catholic than Protestant players, while at the same time Celtic had more Protestant than Catholic players. Very interesting reversal there.

Kappa, your one of the few people on these boards that actually has some sense. Thanks for the website. I have been checking out the Jerusalem Post online for sports. I like your sites writing style better. I will definately check out Beitar Jerusalem. I wish they showed Israeli Football on TV here.

you too! Im seeming to like this forum! the last forum i was in, i got banned cause of being jewish and right.

It was a crazy forum that only had words of mouth and when you started to be cocky, thats it! You lose it...you get banned. I got banned like 6-7 times!!!!! it really sux...unbelievable!!!!!

Anyways, as i was saying. I see the Ulster the protestants as another light. They are good friends of israel and the jewish people and are 1 to the fight of democracy and free liberty.

I am strongly against terrorist criminals and especially the pope, who has alot of issues on his hands....

Im also against Ireland....i actually had to write a school thesis report on Irelands support to WW2 and Germany.... didn't have much info, but what i wrote was about there condolence letter after hitlers death, there support for the nazis and there attitude's towards the alliance of churchill, stalin, rosevelt!

Infact! I recall in one of my classes i saw a guy wearing a Rangers jersey. He asked what was my jersey from (beitar jerusalem)...so i told him that it was Jerusalem United.... Normally, im scared to tell people where it is..cause i hate backlash and bigotry about me being israeli/jewish!

I know what your sayin. Thanks for the site links by the way, appreciated. The Catholics supported the Nazis because thier ideology was inline. They both held the ultra liberal belief in a master race, and the state controlling peoples thoughts and actions. The Irish goverment was practically run by the Roman Church, hence the support. Both the Nazi's and the Catholics were against individual freedom, instead trying to get everyone to have blind allegiance to the state/church. It just so happened that they were both very, very, Anti-Semetic. Now the Catholics, and the Eastern Orthodox are in total support of those terrorist ragheads, like Arafat. Its insane! The only Christians that care about the Jews are the more conservative Protestants. It makes me mad. It's got to be hard to be an Israeli these days. In a recent poll conducted by the European Union of thier member countries, they asked "What country poses the biggest threat to the world?" Israel was number 1. U.S. was number 2. How crazy is that? Our countries defend themselves against terrorists, and we are seen as evil.

Your welcome for the links...im happy to give them out. Although most of the things are in hebrew, some have english sections which might help you. And eventhough they have hebrew....in the down left side of your scroll bar there is a saying that gives you a banner link...if that link says somethingsomethingmembers.tripid.com/mp3.html...than that would help you know whats in it :) Just browse around anyways...

Did you want sites that sell Israeli jerseys?

Also, in Europe i think they get an israeli channel. Im sure its in Germany, but why not the UK! they might have it. Got satelite?

also, with the catholic thing. I just think there evil. Just think of it! They supported Nazis in WW2, know about it..and it took them 41 years after V-Day to actually make peace with the jewish people. Till then, they still had there views on jewish people that were very wrong and bad...... The Pope did a favour coming in 1999...having sympathized with the palestinian, to the point that Israeli-Arabs decided to build an illegal mosque....he actually threatened to not come to Israel if the mosque is built.....What can israel do? When we tore it down, we were condemend...when we don't do anything the catholic church condemns that....

But we love your support Scotland and Israel are in the same fight......Is the majority of brits Protestants?

Also...with the poll. Im not surprise... The poll was very racist. I mean, no one ever went to war torn Congo and saw how much of a threat that is or perhaps how saudi arabia exports threats and is shown throughout the world....but they simply care about what they see on TV. Fortunetly, instead of seeing israeli soccer people see Atrocities happening to israelis and think otherwise...very unfair

I would love a site that sells jerseys. I think that you think I live in Scotland. I dont. Sorry for the miscommunication. My support for Rangers comes from my Scottish family(grandparents are from Scotland). I am an American by birth. But if you want to know about protestants in U.K., it's complicated. Scotland, England, N. Ireland(Ulster), and Wales have thier own national churches, which are protestant. Scotland and North Irelands churches are Presbyterian(some call these churches Calvinist, because thier teaching comes from Reformer John Calvin). Wales and England are Anglican. This is very close to Catholicism, but with a few theological differances. For instance, Catholics worship Mary, the mother of Jesus, and other dead people the church has deemed worthy, known as saints.(If you know this stuff, sorry I dont mean to patronize. I just dont know how much you know about this) Anglicans don't support this. There are significant Catholic populations in each of these countries, most coming from Irish immigrants. I went to Catholic school here on the States, and it opened up my eyes to these people. I was baptized a Baptist, which is also protestant, even though my fathers side of the family, the Scottish side, is Presbyterian. I have been seriously considering conversion to Judaism lately(Sorry if this offends. Some Jewish people get offended when I say I want to convert). That is where my interest in Israeli soccer comes from. Thanks again for all the info.

Intresting :)

So you wanna become jewish, eh!? Doesn't offend me at all... We need to make the population more! Its always good to see people intrested....

Israeli soccer is a first step as always.....
I have never been intrested in understanding much on religion, furthermore religions in the British Isles. I always knew that the Roman's went forth to england and spread the gospel, than in Germany someone started to protest the church and create protestant....

But it was intresting about all the presperterian thing....not bad at all!!!

Didn't see that you were actually from Virginia....ooo sunny virgina..hehehehehehe

Brassmonkey: First of all, I converted to Judaism. Private message me if you want more info. on this subject. The Jerusalem Post is much more of national/right wing paper and Ha'aretz is more liberal. Many of my Muslim friends that I go to college with in Chicago can't argue with Ha'aretz's accuracy. The reason why Celtic fans get on you is because they hate Rangers. Rangers are basically the Manchester United of the Scottish Premier League....so what were expecting hugs and kisses...lol. Being a Rangers fan kind of makes you look like a gloryhunter. I have been to Scotland and it is BEAUTIFUL and the Scots are very nice. We stayed just outside of Edinburgh in a 13th century castle....very cool.

Kappa: I have a dear friend who lives in Givatim. He is a big Hapoel supporter and also loves Liverpool.

My wife was adopted and converted just after birth.
