Jason Koumas has turned down what was reportedly a one-year extension and salary improvement to his four-year contract at West Bromwich Albion.

Perhaps it's understandable that Jason would prefer to hone his skills in the Premiership, especially if he wants to compete for a regular place in the constantly-improving Wales squad. My hope is that he can see that Albion can well be a Premiership club with his help.
But no doubt his opting not to extend his contract could be a signal for other clubs to try to swoop in for him. Perhaps I can understand what Tranmere Rovers fans were feeling a year ago.
