The series (http://www.nbc.com/My_Name_Is_Earl/) returns for its fourth season on Thursday, September 25th with a one-hour season premiere.
And since last season's finale (http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showpost.php?p=14622905&postcount=92) pretty much set everything back to the way they were before, it seems like Earl and Randy are now ready to tackle the list again unimpeded - or at least unimpeded by anyone except those they're trying to cross off the list. :D

I was a big fan of this show when it first started, but I gotta tell you -- it was a chore getting through last season. I'm probably gonna give this season a couple epidsodes to prove itself, but it better wow me or I'm moving on.

You're a better man than me, after last season I couldn't even bother with ending the season. I've dropped it totally.
edit--- I probably should have read your other post... lol

"You're like the Karl Malone of mailmen." :D
Pretty good season premiere last night (two separate half-hour episodes combined in one hour) with a return to the Season 1 format of crossing people off Earl's list in self-contained episodes (unlike the overarching plot of Joy's trial in Season 2 or Earl's jail-time & coma in Season 3). :)

Finally got the chance to watch this week's episodes (like the season premiere, they were two separate half-hour episodes combined in one hour). :D
The first episode (http://www.nbc.com/My_Name_Is_Earl/video/episodes/#vid=722230) dealt with Earl (along with Catalina changing into her stripper gear in his car http://home.pacbell.net/torvic1/heartface.gif) obtaining a used hot tub for Joy. Hilarity and surprising insights ensue.
The second episode (http://www.nbc.com/My_Name_Is_Earl/video/episodes/#vid=722241) involved Randy's "new" hat, Joy's quest to capture the elusive Pigsquatch and Earl's attempt to cross old Jerry off his list after an RV incident years earlier.

these two actually weren't bad at all. the first two really struggled... the movie one in particular.

This week's episodes certainly had a Season 1 feel to them.

Yeah, it was pretty funny last Thursday. Joy was a hoot.

The week's episode (http://www.nbc.com/My_Name_Is_Earl/video/episodes/#vid=741001) had Earl needing to figure out how to cross stuntman Sweet Johnny off his list, while Joy and Darnell argued over gun control issues after she got carjacked.
Joy even stated that Charlie Brown wouldn't have had the football pulled from him at the last minute again "if he'd been packin'". :D

while the last couple episodes were decent and had a season 1 feel to 'em, this week's was terrible again. it was a ridiculous premise and it wasn't helped by focusing on randy.

The week's episode (http://www.nbc.com/My_Name_Is_Earl/video/episodes/#vid=783323) found Earl getting Randy a birthday present, him needing to get it back from Camden County's criminal element and the domino effect it eventually sets off.

The good parts were good, but that episode, IMO, was 6-8 minutes too long. Which is pretty extreme given that nowadays, I think a 1/2 hour TV show is only 22 minutes. I found myself fast forwarding through parts of it because I just knew he wasn't going to be able to steal the car. (For example.)

This week's episode included Earl's attempt to throw his sons a Halloween party to cross them off his list, Catalina's little "voodoo" cousin, Randy's quest to become an official Big Brother and Joy's ensuing witch-hunt posse. ... :D

A mysterious new motel neighbor, a lemon of a car and Joy's attempt to win her children's school science fair competition's $500 cash prize to buy herself a Jayne Seymour diamond necklace all highlighted this last week's episode. :D

wow. this last episode... was really bad. the actors should be embarrassed to have done that one. in fact, i think this might've been their worst episode ever. the only good part was a 2 second window when catalina leans over the table and tells the guy to "give 'em a squeeze."

The show might be cancelled.
It seems like we'll know the fate of this show (along with Chuck and Medium) for next season on May 19th.
Hopefully it'll be on next season, particularly since the last several episodes have been really good - reminiscent of Season 1, as a matter of fact. :)
