Update: Gomez was dealt to Kansas City on Thursday in exchange for the famous "allocation money and draft picks" according to Ives Galarcep of ESPNsoccernet.com.
Analysis: Gomez will provide desperately needed offensive help to Kansas City as they push on towards a playoff berth. Still though, the MLS trade/transfer system seems to have been exposed this season for just how non-sensical it is.
