I hate the word concachampions, it sounds stupid for me, i hate it and for some reason a lot of CRn journalists are using it instead of Concacaf champions league, or liga de campeones....

Is the word concachampions used in your country too?
do you guys like it?

IMO concachampions sounds ridiculous

what do you think?

The title champions league makes it more interesting to watch the games on tv.

It sounds like Central America is just being disrespectful to the Caribbean, since CONCA stands for Confederation of North and Central America... :p

considering the Asian Football Federation, the African Football Federation, the Oceania Football Federation, all lacked any any creativity with a possible name to their premier club tournament, and went with Europe's faux imagery of their Champions League...Concachampions is a lot better that Concacaf Champions League. Not saying it is the best, but a little creativity wouldnt be so much to ask for would it?

First time I've seen it.

Sounds like something a lazy journalist used by not wanting to repeat "CONCACAF Champions League" in it's entirety over and over in an article, and eventually caught on with the rest of the lazy journalists that read his article. :p

they call it the Concachampions in Mexico too. and it does sound stupid. But I think they just say that so they don't have to say liga de campeones de la Concacaf. cuz you know they have to say de la Concacaf or people would think its the UEFA one :D

The mystery has been solved as to the terrible attendance for La Liga vs. Puerto Rico Islanders. The 900 people there though they were watching a live musical for Lord of the Flies.

Probably because no one takes it too seriously? I mean, this thing is basically a SuperLiga with a couple of other teams sprinkled on.

That much tells you how much credibility this thing has.

Concachampions sounds good to me.

Concachampions sounds good to me.

Yeah, so does MMLS....

Anyway, how is this like the SuperLiga? Don't you think it's a lot more similar to the CCC, which it replaces?

Oh, wait, let me guess. It's like the SuperLiga because it has 4 American teams and 4 Mexican teams? If that's your argument I believe there's another thread for it. And you managed to place that gripe in yet another thread where it doesn't belong. Good for you.
