Screaming Eagles Pub Crawlpocalypse this Saturday!

USA-Cuba
D.C. United-San Jose Earthquakes

The good and not-so-good folks of the NW DC SE regiment are throwing a disorganized monster of a pub crawl on Saturday, September 6, culminating in a viewing party at Momo’s where we’ll watch the U.S. go all United Fruit Company (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Fruit_Company) on Cuba (too soon?), and the Black and Red go all Gargamel on the Smurfs (only this time, Gargamel will actually win). ALL USA AND DC UNITED SUPPORTERS ARE INVITED!

We’re still working on rustling up some specials, but as of now, the plan is to start out at Duffy’s (http://www.duffysdc.com/) (2106 Vermont Ave., NW, across Vermont from the 9:30 Club). We’ll kick things off at 4:30, but feel free to get there earlier. From there, we’ll move on to the downstairs bar at DC-9 (http://www.dcnine.com/portal/) (1940 9th St. NW, just below U St.) at around 5:15. Then it’s on to Solly’s (http://www.sollystavern.com/) (1942 11th St. NW, corner of 11th and U) at 6:00. Thence to Polly’s (http://www.pollyscafe.com/) (no relation to Solly, we’re told…1342 U St. NW) at 6:45, and lastly to Momo’s (http://www.momosdc.com/Home.html) (1334 U St. NW) at 7:30 to continue the pre-game festivites. You can easily get to these bars by Metro (take train to U St, NW). If you have questions, please send an email to info@screaming-eagles.com Please wear your US, D.C. United or any supporter club gear so we can keep track of people on the crawl.

Update: info re: Duffy's: (the first stop)

Duffy's opens at 4PM, and will be offering their weekday happy hour specials to us, 'cuz our NW Reg Captain asked nicely. This includes food specials, so please feel free to get there at 4:00 and get some food in your stomach. Kick-butt specials are as follows:

All domestic cans $2 (reg. $3): Natty Boh (Boh knows beer), Schlitz (the beer that made Milwaukee famous), Schaefer (the beer to have when you're having more than one), Miller High Life (the Champagne of Beers), PBR (not just for hipsters anymore), Miller Lite (less filling...did I mention it's less filling? Yeah, that's about it...), Bud (the great Belgian lager), Bud Light (it's, uh, cold), Natty Light (it's, uh, not Bud Light)

Import cans $4 (reg. $5): Corona (¡la cerveza mas fina!), Heineken (won't skunk in cans!), Amstel Light (95 calories never tasted so imported!)

Here's where it gets really good: All drafts half price (reg. $6): Guinness $3, Yuengling $3, Smithwick's $3, Hoegaarden $3, Stella $3, Bud Light $2. Side note: Anyone who drinks a $2 Bud Light when there's Guinness (and all those other beers) for $3 is subject to having their SE membership suspended. Srsly. Don't do it. For the love of Beer, don't do it.

Duffy's 20oz Rum Punch $5 (reg $10): "a secret delicious blend of rums and fresh juices in a tall 20oz glass garnished with a lime."

Food specials: Buffalo Wings $5.95, 1/2 lb Duffy Burger w/ Fries $7.95, Veggie Burger w/ Fries $7.95, Shepherd's Pie $8.95, Fish & Chips $8.95, Shrimp Boat $7.95.

This is happening rain or shine so bring your poncho or umbrella (or be prepared to get a little damp on the walk between the bars).
