I can't believe that the folks at Setanta would not make the England v. Turkey game available for home pay per view to satellite customers. Instead they are only offering it to bars which means fans liek me in Wisconsin have to travel 3 hours to Chicago to see the match!
Ugh! Guess I'll be watching the highlights on Fox Sports World!
Anyone else mad about this?
I'd like to get a group email together from folks who felle the same as I do and drop it in Setanta mgmt's "in box"

yeah man that sucks, there are many people over here (usa) who like to watch soccer rather than baseball, golf or curling. But you can listen it on radio if you got installed Paltalk.com For all Bosnian fans in US and Canada or anywhere in the world who don't have any other way to follow BH-Denmark match live, they can go to: Paltalk-Europe-Bosansko Sijelo

For those who are looking for a place, this may help. Put a check mark on England vs Turkey and enter your zip and the closest places will come up.
Use the phone number to verify and ask about the cover charge, if you wish, as it can be steep some places.
$25 at the bar near me.

My wife must have made a phone call to Setanta -- she threw a fit the last time I paid $25 or whatever it was for 1 soccer game. And I would have HAD to buy this one too.

I doubt there will be any fight. I've gone to see plenty of matches at N. Smith's where there were groups of rival fans in attendance and only once did I ever see anything remotely ugly, and it wasn't violence, but just some really rude *#*#*#*#*# that a drunk guy was yelling at the other fans. People need to keep their heads - (A) it's only a football match, (B) start trouble and you'll end up having NO PLACE to watch matches.

I can't believe it either! None of the bars that are listed as "soccer friendly" on the Setanta site are going to show the game either. Perhaps Setanta should send emails to bars letting them know when they are going to do this so the bars would be more inclined to open up and buy the games knowing we will need to go to the bars to see a particular game.

I'm hoping that this is not going to be a trend next year for the tournament! I don't mind paying 25-40 a game to watch it at home or to go to a bar!

Does anyone know of a website that will have commentary (radio or something) of this game? EngvTurkey?

This TOTALLY blows... Why would they do that?

They claim that they lose thousands of dollars with home PPV because people like me invite friends over, who don't have cable or satellite, and only pay $24.99 once. They'd prefer that a bar owner charges you and I $25 a head to get into the bar to watch the game which I think is faulty logic on their part. What's even more rediculous is that I am 3-4 hours away from the closest pub that's showing it. I'm not spending $15 (gas and toll) driving down to Chicago, spend $25 to get into the Abbey Pub, get pissed, watch the game, and then drive another 3 hours back. That's what they are asking those of us who live outside of major markets to do which is idiotic. Blaming and inconveniencing the consumer is never a good buisness strategy.
BTW- If you want to voice your opinion you can email their US office at shane@setanta.com
but I'd CC the home office email:setanta.irl@setanta.com too.

Is there a way to watch the game later...like after the game is over at some other time. Will there be any networks playing the game at a later time/day?

No. We'll be lucky to see highlights on Fox Sports World Report.

Same problem myself amte.
Nearest bar is in Emmanus and it's over 50 miles away-geting pissed and taking on another 50 mile trip is out of the question.None of my yank friends that could do the driving could give a ******** about the game and the wife would die of laughter if i asked.

There is a new(but illegal) site online where you can watch the match (90 second delay though) for free , but last time a posted a link for something of this nature it was edited and I was advised not to do it again because BigSoccer could get in trouble. So pm me for the link, I don't think that would get Bigsoccer in trouble

You guys need to move to Boston. I'll bet there were at least a dozen bars showing both games (Turkey v England and Switzerland v Ireland). I paid $20 to watch both at the closest one (10 minute walk). The place was packed. I'd guess about half & half, English & Turkish. There was lots of cheering, but no drunkeness, swearing, or unpleasantness of any kind.

Yeah I feel really screwed by Setanta. I buy every game on PPV for $20 a piece including the crap friendlies and qualifiers we had. Then the biggest game comes along and they wont show it. I live in Utah, the nearest place to watch being a 6 hour drive to Las Vegas. I ended up going to Texas to visit a friend to see it. Fortunately I had the option and most of my friend don't. I hope Setanta gets lots of feedback from disgruntled fans who have supported them and PPV for the past few years.
