Sky have sold their shares of Manchester United PLC stock.

A United statement to the Stock Exchange read: "Manchester United has now been advised that the Cubic Expression Company Limited has, as at October 7 2003, a holding of 60,144,730 ordinary shares representing approximately 23.15 per cent of the issued share capital of Manchester United."

LONDON/DUBLIN (Reuters) - Two Irish racehorse magnates have seized a fifth of Manchester United by buying BSkyB's stake in the football champions, but they do not plan a bid, a source close to the deal has said.

Rupert Murdoch's BSkyB BSY.L on Tuesday confirmed a Reuters report that it had sold its 10 percent stake in one of the world's richest football clubs for 62 million pounds, feeding talk United could fall prey to a bid, as did rival club Chelsea.

^ Funniest thing I've read all day.

I appreciate the sentiment, but Sky's bias has gone on for so long theyv'e forgotten what 'fair', 'balanced' and 'impartial' meant and stood for many years ago.
